Thanksgiving week nightmares?

We will be staying @ the Dolphin the week of Thanksgiving. I realize that any holiday @ any Disney Park can be crazy, but I have heard nightmarish tales for this time period. We have been to the DLR during the week between Xmas & New Years, if it is anything like that! Did we make a smart choice to go @ Thanksgiving? Enlightenment please!!

I've only been to WDW in the summer. Last year it was during the last week in June. Are Thanksgiving crowds a lot larger than summer crowds in general?

At what point do the crowds die down after Thanksgiving? We arriving the Saturday after Thanksgiving but won't hit the parks until Sunday, am I safe or will the crowds still be a nightmare?

Perfect timing. Sunday after T-Day seems to be a bit crowded but by 4-5 p.m. the parks really thin out for the next 4 days or so.

We have been to WDW every Thanksgiving for the past 5 years. We rely on FastPass and do our site seeing, shows that sit many and shop during the 1st few days as it is crowded, but once Sunday afternoon hits, it is really great. Great weather, managable crowds.

We usually carry a pair of sweats and pullover for each member of the party in case it gets a little colder at night.
