Thanksgiving week crowded?

I was thinking about going to wdw the weekend before thanksgiving through thanksgiving day. I know that thanksgiving day will probably be crowded but what about the beginning of the week and the weekend before? I have never been during this time. Last year we went presiden't week and it was terribly crowded! Anything like that? Thanks!

We were there the Tuesday before Thanksgiving thru the weekend last year. It was crowded, but if you plan your days, get there early and use Fastpass, it's doable. We did MGM on Thanksgiving Day, and the longest line we were in was RNRC, but we didn't really mind becasue we were basically killing time before Fantasmic. Some of the more popular attractions had lines up to 120 minutes in the afternoons, but I'm sure it wasn't as bad as is it for other major holidays.

I would suggest not going to MK on Thanksgiving Day. It was terrible in 2000 when we went, the other parks were crowded but ok. :wave:

A lot of it depends on what you want to see while you're there, too. This was our 4th trip, DD was 17, so we could kind of skip over the "little kid" (her words, not mine) stuff, like Toon Town and Din-O-Rama. We didn't do Character meet-n-greets, either, just character dinners.

Everyone has mentioned Thanksgiving Day...but as MOM2CBA asked...what about the weekend before till Tuesday? We are going the 14th-20th. I am hoping Sat-Monday won't be too bad. Can anyone shed some light on this??

We went in '98 the 9th til 16th and it was great. Not crowded at all. Weather was warm and low crowds, I think the crowds pick up during the Thanksgiving school break.
