Hello everyone.
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving here in America. Disney will be crowded, Macy's will have its parade (not too much differently than it did in "Miracle on 34th Street" so many years ago), and many people all across America will sit down to some sort of meal, usually with family and usually with turkey and all the trimmings.
And most will take time to pray a prayer of thanksgiving. I want to take a few minutes here to recognize publicly some of the things that I will include in my thanksgiving prayers tomorrow -- and really should every day.
- My mother. She has always brought laughter to the room -- and love. She will find the person in any party who might not be having such a good day, and will try to cheer them up.
- The music in my family. I grew up thinking that everyone had musical family reunions -- and pretty much could make a band with their extended family! Even with a dobro and steel guitar!
- Grace. Lord knows that I make mistakes, and take things for granted. These blessings included.
Of course, not everyone has these blessings -- and I guess that is the root of the holiday. While I count my blessings, I pray also for those in need, and that I might be able to discern and help in a meaningful way.
Feel free to post your own thanksgivings here, and God bless you all.
Paul
