We just got back from a week in WDW. I have to share a little experience that happened just after arriving to Orlando.

We arrived last Saturday 11/17, and checked in in Howard Johnson Inn at 6051 Irlo Bronson. Getting there was a real nightmare, because there was massive traffic (at 10pm), which we never knew why; so when we got to the hotel after 12mn, we were really tired, we got our suitcases (3) out of the car, and settled in the room. After I was already in bed with my DD, my DH asked me where was the little suitcase (which had the laptop, travel documents including the disney and busch gardens tickets and PSP), I told him it was near the door. When he told me it was not there, I got out of bed and looked even inside the other suitcases, the little bag was nowhere to be found. My DH went to check to the car, and it was not there; in desesperation, I got out of the room in my PJ's-barefoot and started crying. My thoughts were that this was not the way to start a Disney vacation, losing my laptop, and the parks tickets; when I returned to the room, my DH was in the phone with the lobby, who was asking him to describe the suitcase, an Angel had found our bag outside our car and took it to the lobby.

I couldn't be happier, there are still good people in this world; obviously, the hotel didn't want to share the Angel's info, but just told us their room number, we tried to reach them but were unable to do so. I left them a note, asking to call or email me so I can thank them personally, but haven't heard anything.

I just want to share this with everyone, to thanks that anonymous Angel who was HONEST enough to return our bag, with everything in it. Thanks again!!!

Yay! I'm glad that you got your suitcase back!

I wouldn't even think of doing anything but taking it to the front desk. I don't know where people get the idea that it's okay to rifle through things before taking them to the lost and found, or just not returning them at all.

My ex's brother lost his wallet at a party. Someone found his wallet and mailed it to his house (info via his license), everything intact, except the money it cost to mail it, with the post office receipt tucked into the wallet. They put no return address on the envelope, so he was never able to thank the person.

It's horrible to think that we live in a world where our first reaction to something going missing is "it's been stolen!". It just shows how morraly corrupt so many people are. I know that, had it been me who lost my bag, I would never have expected to see it again. Especially if it was so obviously a laptop complete with expensive park tickets.

Thank god there are still some good people who wouldn't think of doing anything other than handing it in.

I'm glad you got your bag back, that would've been a horrific start to a vacation if it had been lost for good! It's a good thing that there are still some decent people around.

Great story! I, too, have left things on vacation and gone back and they have been in the same place waiting for me, or turned in for me to go back and get them.

In my home town I have left my purse and other things places and gone back for them and they were gone forever.

I wonder if on vacation people are more honest than in every day life.

Whatever the case, in your situation - if it had been me - I would have cried when I lost it and cried when it was returned to me.

I know what you mean about there being some good people in the world! My brothers grandmother lost her 3 carat diamond out of an old family ring, he said she was sick about it for days! About 3 days later there was a knock at the door it was the postman, while putting the mail in the box he saw something sparkle and it was the stone he grabbed it and gave it back to her! So there are some good people in the world.

Yay! Thank God for angels!
During one of our trips to WDW this past year, DH lost a box memory sticks for his camera and his wallet. . .on the same day, in two separate incidents. Both incidents took place in the parks and in both cases the items were returned to him with everything in tact.
So nice to know that there are still good people in the world who wouldn't keep something that doesn't belong to them.

That is great that you got it back. I was there from 11/11-11/17 and had a little episode myself. We went to the MK on Friday the 10th. I always keep my camera and things inside my bag. Well, we rode BTMR, so I decided to stick my camera in the little pouch for belongings on the ride. An hour later, we were in Fantasy Land and I wanted to get a picture and could not find my camera. My sister was in Philharmagic, so i texted her phone to see if I gave it to her or something. She said no. Then my cousin comes running up to me saying that I put it in the pouch on BTMR....(i forgot at the time that I put it in there). So we ran to Frontierland in 5 minutes and went through the exit of the ride. Someone was so nice enough to hand my camera in. I couldn't have been happier. I just wish I knew who it was so I could thank them for it.

It could have easily been stolen. I took over 300 pictures that week, and was in a panic, thinking it was just gone.

There are good people out there. And I am thankful for them.
