Hi Everyone

I have a cruise booked for 21st Nov on the Dream, however I am from the Uk and am unsure when Thanksgiving is.

I have worked out the last Thursday in november is 27th.

So is the 27th Nov Thanksgiving?

I really do not want to be on the ship for it and I hope I have missed it slightly. i have heard some terrible reports from various people about the sheer business and chaos on a Thanksgiving cruise.

I am heading to Universal Hard Rock for 2 nights after and fly back on 26th. So i think Universal parks may be busy also them few days!!!

Well... the cost of the cruise should be a tip. The rates skyrocket for thanksgiving :)

The 27th is thanksgiving in the US

For future reference, Thankgiving is always the fourth Thursday in November.

Who could pass up the opportunity to have somebody else cook AND clean up for Thanksgiving dinner?

Maybe people to whom US Thanksgiving is not a holiday. Traditionally, US Thanksgiving celebrates leaving behind prior country ties and establishing new links to Native Americans in what was to become a new country. Not surprising it is not celebrated by those the Pilgrims left, lol. If the prices increase, it may also be a problem for some. We, however, appreciate anytime someone else does the cooking and clean up for a Thanksgiving dinner.

I would have thought that you'd be thankful that you'd gotten rid of us rabble-rousers!! ;)

Maybe you didn't understand. . . It includes a FREE turkey dinner!! :D

See? That's what I'm talking about!

We rouse plenty of rabble ourselves and enjoy a great turkey every Thanksgiving. We will point out that the dinner is not FREE, as we constantly remind our children when they proclaim that they get a FREE laptop with their college education. It is paid for. The dinner is nonetheless delicious, as well as being entirely enjoyable since others cook it and clean up afterwards.

It's also a harvest festival

Nothing against people having a good time or anything, its just I am from the UK so Thanksgiving doesn't really have any meaning to us, plus our trip to the USA has cost us in excess of $6000 for 2 of us (weve booked some very special things). I have been to Disney World numerous times any prefer everything to be quieter so we can make the most of the time we have. Its also our first cruise and I am nervous about it and I am thinking if its quieter we will enjoy it more and again, make the most out of our time without having large queues etc

We have a turkey dinner every Sunday too, that may ne a Uk tradition so I am happy to miss out on that also lol.
