Test Track

Break downs are not necessarily a bad thing. This past June we were in line and were the next guests to enter the briefing room when it was announced that the ride was down. The CM said if it completely shut down we would have quite a wait (don't remember exact time he quoted) because it takes (again I don't remember exact time) a certain amount of time for computers to do the start up process. My brother and cousin left the line to visit the rest room. We decided to wait. Lucky for us it was only about 20 minutes. When we rode, our party got split up, there were 7 of us. While on the ride, the rains came and the ride was closed. Our kids were in the exit area at that time. My cousin and I were 3-4 cars behind them. We could see them and in fact had completed the ride but our car hadn't made it to the exit area yet. We kept hearing the accouncement about remain seated. A CM came to our vehicle and helped everyone off and gave us a "Free Ride" pass thingy to ride Test Track anytime without waiting in the line. We had ridden the whole ride and still got the pass. After the rain, my brother and cousin used the passes for a ride.

There is abosolutley, postively, NO WAY that if your car stops on the outside of the track, that another car would come and hit you. Test Track is the MOST safest ride on property. The most littlest problem will cause it to go down.

I know it's safe. That is why it "breaks down" so much, because of its safety measurements. I was saying I would rather have it break down when there is even a chance of a problem than never break down causing the cars to slam into each other.

Even s the ride is in progress, their is still NO POSSIBLE WAY for the cars to actually "hit" each other. They will never slam into one another, because of the way it was made.

I KNOW IT WAS DESIGNED THAT WAY!!!!! It was designed to break down a lot! I am saying that if it were to NOT break down due to safety measurements, we would have problems! People can complain all they want, but it is better than dying on this ride. This ride does not have design flaws that disney could have prevented. It is the first and only of its kind, and with a ride of its size, you never know what problems will come about until it is done. There is not a completely innovative ride ever built that did not break down a bit--it is part of creating the concept for a ride never built and then building it.

Of course if their were no safety measurements involved, their would be plenty of problems. As Kenan said, even if the ride is still in motion, their is no possible way for another car to slam into your car. no possible way. Actually, Journey to the Center of the Earth attraction in Tokyo DisneySea, is an almost exact replica of Test Track. Disney learned their lesson with Test Track so they wouldnt make as much mistakes with Journey.

Guess I've just been lucky. We've never been in line when the ride has been broken down, and we've ridden a fair amount. I do have to say that we've been in the parks when the ride has been closed; of course, we just make plans to come back an hour or so later, and it's usually up and running again. Nothing's perfect!

Gotta love that quote, "NOTHINGS PERFECT" Glad to hear you had a fun time on Test Track figmentmom.

In response to Corrus,
Test Track has gone many, many days without breaking down. It just a matter of how everyone on this board defines, "breaking down". Is breaking down mean completely shutting down, or brief stops of about 3 or 4 mintues...Because if that is the case, the yes, Test Track is down for brief stops a lot. But in breaking down meaning completely shutting down, that does not happen as often as one might think.

That's what I meant, some was asking if TT was beaking down a lot..... and didn't mention Light or severe breakdowns...

So I sad yes... I'll try to be a bit more specific in the future

If by chance that you see people getting off of the ride and it is down, please ask them kindly to get back into the vehicle, because what they are doing is not safe at all. They are actually endangering their lives as well as who ever is in the car. The safest place for you "the guest" is in the car until a host or hostess arrives. Trust me on this one guys....

Or you can be an undercover host in a car and shine your handy-dandy flashlight at them and ask them to sit down nicely...That will get their attention...heheh:king:

Kinda like the suit of armor in the HM. Only it'll be a test dummy like the ones they have walking around. All of a sudden this guy walks out of the crashing car and starts to sing and dance to entertain the kids. Then someone shoots a dart at him and he falls to the ground.

Minus the darting portion, that may work. I miss the test dummies that walked around test track...i even got to the point where i forgot their names...im getting old....just a bitter 19! but on a serious note, oh well...time goes on..... any other Test Track questions anyone? I'll be more than glad to answer them, but you have to be careful of what you ask....
