Yes it really goes that fast. It was going to go quicker, but Eisner decided it would not be good to show cars going quicker than the typical highway speed limit of the time.

I bet he never drives over the speed limit too. He seems like a goody goody.

Isn't the speed display just a static display in that it is preprogrammed to do what it does and is not actually reading the speed of the ride vehicle?

Oh, super nerd time. Do I REALLY have to take my GPS with me next time and compare my speed to what the display says.

I don't know, that may be a bit much.

Honestly, it may not be enough time to re-establish a sat lock in the time on the outdoor loop. You are moving as soon as you leave the building. That does not help.

I had always thought it was preprogrammed but I have been on it a couple of times in a row and the speeds were different. Unless, it is random to make it look like it's different and real...hmmm?:dazzle:

The sign does vary but it is not a live reading. It will still go up to 64.7/64.8 even if the vehicle is creeping along or braking.

I too think the ride is just too short. I love that part of the ride and the reason it does feel faster is that the roadway is banked and makes you feel like you are going faster.
