Test Track - Radar?

The easy way would be to just time the car: How long would it take to get from one proxy switch to the next? Heck, the system could even just time how long it clears a zone and figure out the speed that way.

It's fake. I've seen it continue up to 64.8 even when the vehicle is braking behind another vehicle doing an automatic cycle out. There are/were variations programmed in to make it seem more realistic.

This would make the most sense though. Keep show elements as isolated from the ride system as possible.

Whether it is a static display or actual doesn't concern me too much, but I would like to know if the vehicle is really going that fast - 64.8, or does it just kind of feel that fast because we are in the open air? I know if I put my arm out the window of my own car at home going 65 mph it seems like I feel much more wind strength than I do in the Test Track car. Then again it could just be me experiencing Disney magic on Test Track.

My wife just found an app that you can download that tells you how fast you are going. Meant for use in cars, bikes. Should work on Test Track vehicle. Speedometer GPS + in the apple app store. You can get it for IPhone,IPodTouch, which would be small enough to take on the ride and bring out at that point in the ride. Tells you how fast and how far you've gone. Anyone want to try it and report back with the results to prove or disprove the track radar?
