 thanks lol. I need a name though. If I was reporting on Modern Cars, then that would help but its about the Invention of the Car so I'm comparing the Model T with that car.

That's GMs' 2000 concept car. It's a combination of Electronic and Hydrogen power. (As far as I know.) And GM would be ed if they saw that you were comparing the Ford Model T to it. No offense. Esp. since I'm a Ford guy myself, but I work on GMs'. GM has a better concept out now. It's all hush-hush right now, so I don't know crap about it yet.

Looks plastic to me (no offence) But if you want to see plastic look at this Picture!

This here folks is a Smart Car, The only time I saw them was in Paris, France 3 years ago, We noticed that some of the cars you could change the panels on to make it different colors. My brother thought it ran on a fan engine with a rubberband attached to it!

That would be an Opel. GM is replaceing Saturan next year with Opel USA. I've seen these things already on the roads in Ft. Lauderdale. Folks, this a stupid car for the roads of America and are not gonna stand up to any of the road conditions we have. Plus.... if those carbon-fiber panels are plastic... they'd melt here in Florida every summer. (Esp. 2 years in Jax when it got up to 104. Could smell my tires on the road...)

Well maybe there not plastic maybe there metal but still there magnetic so you can change them. (I think) any way, My RC car could probably go faster then that thing!

Carbon Fiber is what they are. Max speed is 80 mph. 3 cyl. engine. Compression ratios differ from the Geo Metros by great amounts to, so it's not the Geos' motor either. (Which could do a 100 mph. But who'd want to drive a Metro that fast?????) And... here's the pain... anything, any-little-thing can damage those panels. And they cost a bunch, so we've been warned to be cautious when working on them, cause if we break one, we bought it (the panel).

Thanks for the name! The only reason I am "comparing" them is to show how much the car has changed since it was first invented. Not actually comparing motors and all that.,

The car looks cool but unpractical, which is code for my wife won't let me get one.

These cars are made specifically for driving and parking in crowded cities. I have a friend in Brussel who bought such a car just for that purpose. She said parking a large car was impossible, so they purchased on of those because they go into the city so much it was easier. Reminds me of the Erkel car.

Back to the Hy-Wire:

For those of you who are interested, HotWheels released a model of the
Hy-Wire, complete with removable body. It goes rather well with the Lean Machine and Test-Track car (not HotWheels) in the "Disney" section of my collection.:animwink:

It was designed for the streets of Paris. Works well in the city, but in the South where it's mostly open land... not so much. Plus, you can't get kids in there.
And I want the toy car of the Hy-wire... must add it to collection....
