Disney could replace both and I wouldn’t care. It’s not that they have no redeeming value, it’s that what they did with the concepts feels rushed and lazy.
The beginning parts of Test Track are so jerky and feel unnecessary. I think the old ride did a better job at explaining exactly which “tests” were happening to your car. I’ve been on this ride before when the car is just gliding around in the indoor parts, no audio, and I wonder if it’s broken or if this is how the ride was designed. It’s just so confusing and dull. The only part that is fun, speeding around outside, well, if you like to look at backstage parking areas, maybe it’s more interesting, but it just pales in comparison to Radiator Springs Racers. Incredibly boring theming throughout this ride.
As previously stated, the new Soarin isn’t as good as the old version. It feels really fake with all the CGI, bad smells, and screen distortion if you sit in the wrong areas. I don’t care for the abrupt scene transitions either.
I’d rather spend my time riding Living with the Land. There’s a lot more to see and take in there, even after multiple rides, and it gives me a bit more time to relax from walking around the park. Bonus is the wait time is shorter.
