I have no suggestions but I would like to say Bravo to your Mom for going to WDW. My grandma is in her 80s and is in decent health but refuses to do anything, apart from going to the grocery store, claiming she is "too old" to do anything.

Thanks, jaklgreen. I cannot begin to express how excited I am to have the opportunity to take my Mom. She has given me so many magical WDW memories over the years and I am grateful to be able to give something back to her.

just my thoughts but if she is healthy i say sure.i'm 53 which is a big age difference from her but i think riding them makes you feel younger.i still ride all the thrill rides several times .

I agree with those who think it is an individual decision. My mother could easily have done most of the rides at age 83 (she lived to be 94). My wife, who is now only 71, does very few rides these days. Her problem is not with the rides themselves, but with her ability to get in and out of the vehicles. Rides like Test Track, Splash, Pirates, Small World, and others that require here to climb down into the vehicle are difficult for her (she has a bad leg) and nearly impossible for her to get out of (we always take along sons who can help me pull her out). As long as your mother can get in and out of the vehicles without much difficulty, the rides themselves are generally pretty benign.

That's so sweet, and so wise. My mom is 94 now and has Alzheimer's, so taking her anywhere is a really huge hassle. Enjoy your time with your mom, whether you ride any rides or not!

When do you plan to go? I went earlier this year during the F&G festival. My Mom was content to sit during a demonstration in the Festival Center while Dad and I wrote TT. If you're going during F&W festival, give her options. She may want to watch a seminar or something. She would be in good hands with the CMs while you ride. Or your Mom may want to dive right in to TT.

We will be leaving for WDW on Friday, August 15th.

I suspect that she will not be sitting that much because she frequently talks about the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and how she cannot wait to see a million diamonds shine!
