I'm suprised the cashier allowed it. They are supposed to say no I think...
At least when I was only an AP holder I wasnt able to let my friend use it for my discount. I had to charge it on my own card and she wrote me a check. the cashier stopped me because the names didnt match.

I doubt a 7 dollar purchase will pop-up on the radar. Usally(outside Disney) people get fired for those types of things when its really large purchases, or there is a pattern where your giving out your card to a lot of people. But I also don't think posting it here is that great of an idea either.

Well you can't ACCIDENTLY do that because you have to be there to prove its yours.

I doubt in this instance they are going to do anything given the volume of purchases made every day. I wouldn't, however, make it a common practice. You can purchase stuff for other people provided you pay for it, but its not a good idea to let someone else use their card to pay for it.

The problem isn't so much that you let someone else pay, it's the fact someone else had your ID, were you with her at the time? If you were with her it really isn't a problem. When shopping with my family at Christmas time they allowed me to put the purchases on a credit card that wasn't mine but I was standing right there with photo ID to verify that it was my cast member ID, the purchases were considerable and it was never an issue. Of course the merchandise was for me, I wasn't giving it to any one else. But really I don't see you getting in any trouble since the cashier allowed it, if you were to get in trouble, so would the cashier at this point.

It's gone and over with but keep in mind it IS a terminable offense. Certainly I wouldn't repeat that in the future. It's kind of strange how many Cast Members don't know you cant do that. I did a CP in merchandise back in the day and I would have at least one or two Cast Members a week not know that you had to use your own payment for discounted merchandise.

What if your friend was purchasing something for you? I mean... heck...what if you didn't have any cash on you...and she said... "Okay, here, I'll buy it for you and you can pay me back later."

Can they? yes

Will they? probably not

Should you have posted this on a PUBLIC internet message board, where Disney can read it and probably find out who you are? NO

Go to your supervisor immediately and explain the situation and offer to reimburse the company the discount.

You are always in a better position when you are coming forward vs being discovered by the system.

As your grandmother probably told you, “honesty is the best policy”.
