Tell me about the Adventurers Club. I've never been, have no clue what happens, and would like to know the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

And the Hoopla!

What is this Hoopla that you speak of?

Kungaloosh, future adventurer! (Translation: "Hi") The Pleasure Island chapter of the Adventurer's Club is quite unlike any nightclub you've ever seen. There are far-off places, daring swordfights, magic spells, a prince in disguise...oh, wait...that's Belle's book in Beauty and the Beast. :lookaroun No, the Adventurer's Club is far more exciting than that, and it's devilishly difficult to explain.

It's sort of like dinner theater, except without the dinner...and in a bar.

It's also interactive. Every once in a while, "new members" are invited to take part in the club's activities. There are several rooms where the Club's sizeable collection of artifacts from all over the world are shown. In addition, some of the artifacts themselves decide to show off. Furthermore, several of the members of the Club are on hand to provide the evening's entertainment, along with competing for that most coveted of trophies: The Balderdash Cup!

As for the Hoopla (HOOPLA!!!), I'm afraid that you'll just have to stick around until the end of the night to find out.

One thing I should stress: give it some time. It's quite possible to go into the Club and not see anything obvious happening. There are multiple rooms that jut off from the main salon, and a fully enclosed, theater-like library room where many of the shows take place. Go downstairs, grab a drink, find a chair, and take it easy for a bit. Pretty soon, you'll be directed to the next event in the Club's busy schedule.

In closing, I present you with the Club's motto: "Some days you eat the bear. Some days the bear eats you. Always dress for the hunt."

Kungaloosh!

HOOPLA!

if you are looking for something a little quirky and very amusing...possibly if you like monty python-esque humor...you will enjoy AC.

oh, and Capt. Hank? you're so right...it's like dinner theatre...in a bar...and sometimes the bar has children, too. that so threw me when i was there! a toddler in a stroller saying "kungoo! kungoo!"

Katie, the place is great. We go everytime we are @ the world. We were there this past Friday night for the Hoopla and really love the place. Go with an open mind and stay for some time. The cast works hard and interact with the guests. Try it, You'll like it.

I soooo agree, have a blast!!!
Not always. I know that the first few times I went there I was there with absolutely no knowledge of the place and I really did not have that great of a time. I felt very much like an outsider. The third time I went was with a bunch of regulars that filled me in on the ins and outs of the AC and I was hooked from that moment on.

I went to the Adv. Club for the first time about 4 months ago...last Sept. I had always heard of it, but never had I been.

At first, you have no idea what's going on. But then...all the sudden, one of the characters comes out and you quickly realize that this is no normal place. This place is unique, interesting, and fun! It is seriously a BLAST! I enjoyed it so much that on my quick trip last week, I went specifically to the MK and the Adv. Club. That was pretty much my trip.

The Adv. Club is unlike most anything you've ever seen. It's not like a comedy club, per se. So don't expect to see any "Who's Line" material floating around. (That's at the Comedy Warehouse). This place, like others have mentioned, is more like dinner theater...without food, but with a bar. The cast gets to play with you and you get to play with the cast. And sometimes that interaction can be priceless. (Like it was on my last trip).

Those videos posted are a good representation of what you'll see in the library, but the stuff you see in the main lobby is sometimes even more hilarious b/c usually a good portion of that is all improved from what is going on with the guests around the characters.

If you don't like improv, don't like utter silliness, goofyness, etc, and don't like theater type stuff, the Adv. Club is probably not for you. But, if all that stuff is right up your alley...you will love it just as much as the rest of us.
