It’s awesome being in the park during Halloween, even though some of the events are duds (Ghost Galaxy actually sucks, the villain meet and greet is sooo disappointing). It’s more of an atmosphere thing I guess.

The parade and fireworks at DL are neat, there’s some special projection effects on Main Street and Small World during the Halloween Party as well. As you may know, DCA is getting the brunt of the Halloween stuff now, with land and ride overlays

That's one of the reasons I'm going. Also Cars Land and Ghost Galaxy. But I guess WDW is finally doing something with Space this year.

they did a great job last year with Carsland, The decor really makes it a great picture spot area.

The fireworks for the special ticketed event at Disneyland and the mini parade are also fun and worth seeing.

I like to avoid October. HMH is the sole reason for me to go, but that's available in Nov - Dec as well. Ghost Galaxy SM doesn't do anything for me and after one ride I wanted SM back. To each their own but my absolutely favorite time to go is Christmas time.

Fresh gingerbread cookie anyone?

Booked Paradise Pier for early October. Prepared to use the stairs.

Give me some don't misses and don't bothers for Halloween. Also booked a Tuesday party.

Thanks!

Hi! California Adventure now has a holiday theme and a couple of attractions have overlays. They have cool magic shots just for Halloween also. Gaurdians of the Galaxy (formerly Tower of Terror) has a special theme after dark and is definitely worth going on. Pixar Puer is new so I don't know what, if anything they'll do. Hopefully world of color will be repaired by then. Most of the stuff st Disneyland was covered already.

I don't like being startled or scared do I don't do universal but if you're into it, I hear it's good.

Have a great trip!

There are differences between the major haunts monsters. For example at Knotts the makeup is top quality but the monsters will just walk pass you and might grunt in your ear or make a loud sound. Universal always goes for the jump scare. Their monsters are always accompanied with a flash and loud sound. Make up is top quality too. However, Magic Mountain's monsters typically has minimal makeup and will always scream. Not sure how those kids keep their voices each night. Finally, the Queen Mary monsters like to follow you around talking to you. The sets are amazing looking at Knotts and Universal. Knotts likes to be creative and original in their mazes while Universal always goes IP related. Magic Mountain's look like it was build in someone's backyard while the Queen Mary drops a bunch of stuff in the hall ways of the ship and calls it a day.

Over at Disneyland you get decorations, projections and candy stations. The rides have no wait but you do have to deal with Disney bounders cosplayers everywhere. Hong Kong Disneyland does it better with actual mazes that are loosely based off their movies or park locations. They look crazy scary, really messed up and are Universal quality. Too bad that kind of thing will never happen at Disneyland or DCA.

I'll be heading out there as well on the first week of October celebrating my Birthday in the DL resort with a pit stop at Knotts and a halloween party on the 5th..Only other thing I heard during the time I'm out there that does get pretty busy is the Unofficial Pride Weekend that will be going on the 6th-7th.

Honestly I feel like DCA will end up with something similar at some point.

Disney could cancel fireworks/parade, hand out the worst cheap candy and put up cheap 99cent only Halloween decorations and people will still pack the place because it's "Family Friendly".
