Tell me a little about Dollar Rental

We are renting a Minivan from Dollar rental, I chose them because it was $202 (with taxes) for 6 days and because they have an airport location.

I have read some bad things and was hoping that someone would ease my mind.

I did call them and confirm that they got my reservation.

I posted about his on another thread too. We rented a mini-van from them last February. No problem with the reservation or anything, just it was not a Grand Caravan like we are used to, but the regular size Caravan. It wasn't a big issue for us, but luggage for 6 for a week could be tight. We have rented from L&M in the past and always have had a Grand Caravan from them.

It was a Dodge Caravan - shouldn't be a problem fitting your family in it - luggage could be a tight squeeze, but you'll only have that issue to and from the airport. I didn't see any other size vans there, but they may have been rented out since it was President's day weekend then.

You should be fine with Dollar, and it's nice to be able to pick it up right at the airport.

We rent from Dollar every year. Fast and easy. One year I found a slightly cheap car at Thrifty........never, never again. It took close to 2 hours from leaving the airport to leaving the rental center. It was unreal! Now I am willing to spend the little extra for Dollar.

Wait.....we will be picking up our car in one week from today! yeah.. One week from now I'll be on the plane...double yeah!

I refuse to use Dollar or Thrifty (they are the same company). I had a semi throw up a stone and put a tiny ding in the windshield. Instead of repairing the ding, they replaced the entire windshield and charged me almost $400. I used to rent from them monthly. Now I rent from Alamo instead. I suppose if you pay the $13 extra bucks a day for their insurance, or however much it is, it's no problem, but just on principle they have lost my business forever.
