Technology is killing creativity

There is so much more to WDW than what I complain about. Otherwise, yes, we would never go back.
Nothing is 100 percent perfect.
WDW is tough environment because it spans generations.
If I don't think that HEA is that good. It only seems natural that I compare it to a show that I loved.
I am not a fan of screens in WDW parks. So HEA was a loss for me even before I watched it. Beyond that though the music just misses the mark.
I loved some of the new additions. Frozen is great. TT is fun, when its working😀.

WDW set the standard for theme parks. I want to hold then to it.....yes with my opinion.

Thanks @NickMaio . I just don't want you to think I'm being dismissive when I ask people why the go back.

I agree about wdw being a tough environment, also folks experiences bring a lot to the table.

for me I think it's an issue of time. for most of my adult married life my honey bunny and I were working to get his business off the ground. for years we didn't even have a vacation and when we did it was usually very quick. Even when my family finally did get to the world, we were still "on duty"so to speak, ahh the life of an entrepreneur . So generally if we have a disappointing outcome at a place it was going to be really hard to get us to go back, we just really could not afford to give a place two, three, four years of vacations and come back complaining.

lol, luckily my first vacation when I was a kid was horrible so I don't have the fuzzy warm memories of wdw as a kid.

Glad you are still enjoying your visits for the most part.👍

I hated Wishes, it bored the snot out of me. HEA is one of my favorite shows, and it is the only nighttime show to be featured at Magic Kingdom that I have cared to see on a regular basis.
idollars.........
I literally have the same sentiments where HEA is concerned.
Just don't get the appeal.....so life less...

We see a lot of this kind of thing - people picking one particular point in time (generally their first adult visit) and treat it like some kind of paragon. It's similar to how for many people James Bond is the first Bond actor they saw play the part, or how Doctor Who is the first Doctor actor they saw play the part. Back when I was narrowly focused like that, I remember being bewildered at those folks who thought the Main Street Electrical Parade was better than Spectromagic. (Well, I still think they were wrong; but at least now I don't say so. :) )

Or........people simply do not like the current offerings.......you know like an opinion.......
Kind of like preffering vanilla over strawberry ice cream. Only people usually don't say something so ridiculus such as, "you know you like vanilla because it was your first flavour and that is why you won't give chocolate a chance....its just as good, if not better".
Man, where is the giant eye rolling emogi when you need one.
This forum should be changed to WDWjudgementmagic.com.
Never ceases to amaze me😐

Which is no more ridiculous than the title of this thread. Talk about hyperbole.

We can play nice though and not name call.

Alot of y'all are silly expecting your personal experience of any Walt Disney visit, attraction, consumables is the sole and proper interpretation.

It's there, it has many facets, and you can either go there and pay what they set as the price or not. If you choose to set WDW vacations as your personal measure of success, it's not anyone else's problem but your own.

So you mean like someone saying, "I don't like X," rather than putting out a generalization like, "X is not creative/is without soul/has no emotion/has no connection/has no story/is <insert exhortation here>." So while, as you point out, individual guests may or may not like something for their own personal reasons and based on their own person emotions, when it comes to generalizations like creativity, soul, emotion, connection, story, etc. the best information we have about how good is what Disney offers is attendance and revenues.

I never called anyone a name....I said the statement they made could be intrepeted as ridiculous when compared to another scenerio.......
There is a difference.....

I do feel guilty spending all that money at WDW. Mainly because I start thinking that I could have used that money for a new computer with a super fast CPU, 2TB SSD with maxed out fast RAM and a Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Founders Edition graphics card. And then enlarge my NAS by 20 more TB.

I carry a few 2 TB flash drives on my keychain these days. Most computing gear these days is at commodity pricing unless you use fruit machines... then its just a skin over the top of FreeeBSD and a Perception tax.

We've seen the HEA show a few times, but usually watch the fireworks from behind the castle or in TL. Only thing I miss about being out front is Tinkerbell. We saw her in June, though, so that will last me for the next couple of visits this year. I'm not one to analyze the shows, but seems to me HEA was mainly designed to showcase IPs. but, hey, I'm no artist, so I'll watch the fireworks, listen to the music, or just enjoy the short lines while the show is on.

I want to see creativity, beautiful units hand sculpted into metal frames light up to look not realistic but amazing in its own way, live performers and interactive whisky units, that’s more creative and impresive than a projection show. Once you seen MSEP and Spectromagic those projections are nothing. Even laser images that pop out are more impresive than movie clips. It’s art, a nighttime show should never be a realistic projection or scenery unless your in a ride vehicle going thru actual realistic scenery made by hand. Movie clips belong on the TV screen.

Nicely put😄.
And totally agree.

I like big A movie scenes on a castle. Fireworks are nothing special,. In fact in two weeks the entire country will be having a bunch of shows that generally blow wishes out the water. For free

Wait...wasn't Wishes just an "IP Fest" with a theme song...just like HEA is? I don't totally understand the hate that I see for HEA. There is a whole 12 seconds of Frozen, and plenty of under-represented animated movies all show up. Isn't that what is complained about too?
People asked for the Frozen stuff to be toned down...Done. People wanted Hunchback, and Hercules, and Princess and the Frog, and Mulan to be represented...Done. We hate it..........

Lol, yep.
The past is always so much better looking back. 😅
