Technical question about difference between SM in DL and WDW

My wife and I are having a discussion about the difference between splash mountain in DL and WDW. (As an aside, I've been to WDW many dozens of times, but to DL only twice). In particular, we noticed that just at the bottom of the biggest INSIDE drop (not the last big drop) of DL's ride the boat goes up a bit again, sort of for a 'mini re-drop' I guess, for lack of a better description. (sort of like this - boat goes down, at the bottom, and goes up a small little "bump" again before leveling out. We can't remember if at the bottom of the biggest INSIDE drop of the WDW ride if there's the same "boat goes up a little for a little re-drop effect". Can anyone help us that knows for sure. I seem to remember maybe there is this little bump at WDW, but can't be sure since we went to WDW last year, and then DL after that, and the last trip is always the most fresh. (that and the fact that we just recently got back from Maui on our honeymoon, and that made me forget just about everything!)

Hopefully I've explained this well enough for you all to understand. I figure if nobody on these forums can help us, than we're out of luck.

If I'm understanding you right, WDW has the same thing. You're talking about the dark drop, right? If so that one goes down and comes back up a bit before leveling out.

Yeah, the dark drop.
I thought there was that little drop at the bottom in WDW, too, but when I watched video of it again, it was hard to tell.
thanks!

Yes, the WDW version does go up again.

Its the dark drop, that right after it you end up by the bee hives, and the squirting fountains, that shoot over your boat.

Hope this helps!:animwink:

Make that used to shoot over your boat. I haven't seen that effect in years. It was great in the early years of the ride. Those streams were perfect! Then as the years went by, they got a little more ragged on the downward part of the arc. Now they're just not done (at WDW anyways). :(
