I haven't, but I wound up getting spoiled about it anyways. I'm so sorry about this. I don't want to disrupt any current plans or have the brainstorming drag on for more that it needs to be. What should we do about this?@Tux have you watched Avatar? We could just split our resources between the two and call it a day. Easiest brainstorming session ever haha.
I'm just worried that this is going to force you guys into something you don't want to do/force you guys to give up on something your enthusiastic about, or that I'm wasting our time since we might have to rethink how we do this if so, but I don't want anyone to have to change because I didn't watch it.I haven't, but I wound up getting spoiled about it anyways. Okay. I think the Dragon's Lair idea is pretty great, and I'm pretty sure there would be enough content, and it would be pretty fun to remaster for say an Interactive Dark Ride E-Ticket, and/or maybe a e-ticket or d-ticket rollercoaster along with a restaurant (leaning towards table service). I think it would work well with the general tone IOA takes on while still fitting in with the more fantastical elements. It's totally fine, we just need to keep brainstorming. The other team is nowhere close to deciding on themes and it seems pretty clear that at the very least Nate and Mickeyfan can take on Oz. What do you think of my Dragon's Lair idea?

Right now I'm thinking we can still do a lot of cool Avatar stuff using just the area around Marvel including the stadium. Republic City from Legend of Korra could be a good way to go with this as it offers all four types of bending in the same location, plus Air Temple Island as a nice side area. Also the city in general just has a great Roarin' 20's Great Gatsby type vibe to it that would be a really cool change of pace for Islands of Adventure. A benefit to setting the land in the Korra timeline is that it'd make more thematic sense why the characters from The Last Airbender would be immortalized into legends within the attractions.
Oh yeah, we could just use up all of the space from Toon Lagoon, it probably wouldn't be too hard to fit as long as the landmarks aren't too large to properly scale down in a respectful manner in regards to the original. Plus, it would fit parts of what you were going for within, although I do wonder how some certain things would be adapted from the original plans you had stated. Some solid reference photos of Republic City to give you a general vibe
I would say that this lines up, and that I think this is pretty good so far. We just have to wait and see what Nate and Mickeyfan have to say about this and see what their thoughts are. Thank you. Also, I'm just noticing now, but I switched up Toon Lagoon and Marvel when I was talking about Korra. Sorry about that, I misread what you were saying there, please ignore that.Great! I also think Dragon's Lair would make an excellent and really unpredictable choice of IP that still fits in well with the parks fantastical settings. I'm picturing a titular Dragon's Lair tower as the weenie of the land which would house the coaster with a small fairytale village surrounding it where we'd find a time travel dark ride based on the second game.
So does this line up then?
Marvel - Republic City
Toon Lagoon - Dragon's Lair
Seuss Landing - The Land of Oz

Once again, sorry about that, I misread. I agree that Dragon's Lair should go into Toon Lagoon and LoK into Marvel, although I see what you mean about the transitions. I'm fine with whichever you choose because either way it works in the end. The transition between the Air Temple and Kong sounds especially cool, with how they could potentially bleed into eachother. I don't really mind either choice in the end, so I'll leave it up to you if thar's okay with you.I was thinking Marvel for Korra since it's already a city, but geographically speaking Toon Lagoon might make a bit more sense and Dragon's Lair would probably be a better transition into Oz than it would be into Kong. One of the big gimmicks of Republic City as you can see in the concept art is that it's a hustle and bustle roarin' 20's city with Japanese influences that also has dense foliage surrounding it. That'd make a pretty swift transition into Kong. I could even see Air Temple Island working as the transitioning point between the two.
This sounds absolutely awesome and I absolutely love it. I imagine the ending of the ride resulting in the fight between Dirk the Daring and Singe but instead with the Guests inserted into the story. One of the best parts of Dragon's Lair were some of the death scene's comedy at times, so I've been wondering how that could be added in without, obviously killing Dirk the Daring. Maybe have some of the deaths be referenced throughout the fights?Going to throw out a crazy idea for a Dragon's Lair coaster ride system...an elevator coaster.
Basically combining Tower of Terror with Escape from Gringotts. Short thrilling dark ride segments combined with unpredictably placed elevator lifts and drops as Dirk the Daring makes his way through the various floors of the lair.

That's true, it'd probably be easier to make sense out of compared to if it was just shoved into the rollercoaster for no reason other than because it was cool. I also like the idea of the interactive dark ride functioning in first person instead of third. As for the rollercoaster, we could probably achieve it by creating stations, I would say for the sake of realism 3 paths so the project doesn't go overboard in this case, and then I think the coastelevators could all use the same room for the finale, but use different tracks. I was thinking for the ride vehicles, minecarts could be used since they were featured in the NES version, but they could be swapped out for something that's featured in the original instead if it feels too out of place.I'm thinking we can play around more with the death animations in the time travel dark ride, which I picture as more of a retelling of Dragons Lair 2 with the E-Ticket coaster basically being a classic Fantasyland style "you are in the main character's point of view" narrative. There can certainly be a lot of death TRAPS in the E Ticket. I'm also picturing a crazy showbuilding that encompasses all of Spider-Man, Dr. Doom, and Storm Force. One of the REALLY cool things we could do with the elevator coaster gimmick is have multiple branching paths where guests can pick which direction they want to go in. Different elevators can lead to entirely different show scenes and death traps. The only thing for certain would be the finale being an encounter with the dragon in AA form followed by a large Tower of Terror style drop sequence finale.

I can't guarantee that I can commit to an A:TLA megaland taking up an entire quarter of the park. What I can guarantee is that I'm 100% on board with A:TLA. Honestly, I'm p sure both Marvel and Toon Lagoon are HUGE on their own (I'll pull up a map to confirm later) and I think you can build out your vision. I'm willing to compromise here if you are. While I really have zero attachment to the Oz idea, I'd be willing to take on your vanity project if you can commit to taking on my full vision for Avatar.
Serves me right for not looking all the way through the thread.DAILY RECAP
