Ok this is due tomorrow so let's get cracking. I'm really seeing something amazing out of the idea of Disney does Cirque with this. What specific segments should we use from Fantasia? I think it'd be sacrilege to not use Sorcerer's Apprentice and Night on Bald Mountain. I'd like to use Firebird if we can. I think 10 or 11 acts should be right on the dot length wise and the idea of something like the Sandpainter from Zarkana could be really cool for a Toccata and Fugue in D Minor or Rite of Spring segment.

So I suppose the question becomes do we structure it like the movie, with the scenes in the right order or do we mix them up/merge them a bit?

For Rite of Spring, perhaps the sandpainter from Cirque but done in the style of cave paintings?

I say mix them up. I think a real quest style story would be cool. Start with The Sorcerer's Apprentice and have Yen Sid send our Mickey-equivalent off to prove himself capable.

And yes for the cave paintings.

Agree with this, have the finale be our apprentice gaining control of the world, with Trapeeze shooting stars, and people on silks.

So I'm watching Fantasia right now as I type. I really want Toccata and Fugue in D Minor to act as our Overture. Reveal all the effects our theater has with lighting, projections, lasers, maybe even a star field effect. I think that can transition really well into an opening Sorcerer's Apprentice segment (a magic/dance act). Then we can have Yen Sid send our Apprentice on an adventure to master his magic. Nutcracker Suite (something like a three ring circus type act with multiple different things happening on stage would be cool here), Rite of Spring (Sandpainting), Dance of the Hours (another multi-act thing, maybe this time going one at a time. Another idea would be cutting Rite of Spring and using Sandpainting for this), Firebird (a solo silk act, cut it off with where the Firebird wakes up in the short), Night on Bald Mountain/Ave Maria (Puppetry and a light manipulation type act would be cool), and end it with either a Sorcerer's Apprentice reprise or a new piece for the finale.

What needs to be done?
-Theater Description
-Production Description
---Songs and Cohesive Story
-Make posts in thread (let's stick to one insider I think cuz otherwise things get confusing)
---I would personally like to start this over with only one insider, but that's just my vote
-Final Announcement by Disney
-Post in Hub Thread

I've got a very clear vision for show content. If anyone has a specific act they'd like to see in the show or a specific segment from the movies please join in.
What are your opinions on the thread. In m opinion. It should have been one insider and thus got sloppy cuz we had three people

I liked the concept. I think it's the first time something like this has been done so we weren't all on the same page. And I think the sloppiness just added to the realism.

You've got a good point, we can maybe limit who gives out the information from now on, but I think it's okay to continue using the same thread instead of starting over. It's still a pretty-well executed idea as it exists in the forum.

Are we creating a Disney P&R press release? I can write that.

I am A-Ok with this! @mickeyfan5534 would you like to take the role of the sole insider?

So I think a quest genuinely is the best way to pull off a plot. It allows for different acts in different locations without it feeling like the show is super segmented. Use SA as our inciting incident, use the Sandpainter to describe the consequences of the Apprentice's uncontrolled magic, and have Yen Sid send the Apprentice off to hone their magic enough to fix what he/she started.
