Here's one for you veteran WDW travelers... Parents of one of my guests for our trip in March bought all three of us tickets to see 'La Nouba' at Cirque du Soleil. We're scheduled to see it at 9:00 on the same night we have a 7:00 ps at Restaurant Marrakesh in Epcot. We are staying at the BWV. I'm planning to get us to the restaurant a little earlier than 7 but:
1. What would be the quickest method to get from Epcot to DtD? I'm thinking boat or walk back to BWV then catch a taxi to DtD. What do you guys think? Are the buses reliable enough or should I get our own transportation?
2. I'm assuming the BWV has taxi service. How do you get one? Can you arrange with guest services for a taxi to pick you up at a certain time or do you have to wait on the next one available?
3. Finally, any estimates on how much it would cost for a taxi ride from BWV to Cirque du Soleil?

Thanks so much everyone! You're all a huge help!

One thing that you should know about Cirque is that they want you there about 45 mins. prior to the start of the show. There is a pre-show that they have and they want you there early.

I would say take a taxi so that you don't chance being late. You just have to call down to the front desk and they will get one for you.
I don't know how much it will cost you. Please keep in mind that you can find taxis at the front of each park and in front of each hotel.

the last time I took a taxi from DTD hotel to the boardwalk they called mears who sent me a towncar and they charged $15.00 the driver said that was the standard taxi fare and sounded about right. it might be quicker for you to walk to the beach club and get a taxi there, but I'm not sure on that. If you need to be at cirque for 8:15 and you have a PS for 7pm that is cutting it kind of close. have you considered trying to move up the PS?

Actually Epcot has buses directly to Downtown disney - we just rode on it a few months ago... however let me say that dinner at Makkaresh is an event - don't rush it - I would make your reservations for around 5pm and plan on staying for a couple hours... the food is great - and the appatizers are wonderful - so don't rush this, the belly dancer is excellant, music is fun - all in all - this is more of an experience than just a restaurant - don't sell yourselves short in rushing through dinner... with an earlier reservation you could take the bus no problem around 7:45 to DTD and that would give you plenty of time to see the pre Cirque show and enjoy your dinner... Trust me on this one- the buses and taxi's are always reliable until you are in a tight pinch... with all that money spent on Cirque - be sure to take the time to enjoy your evening and not rush it away! :)

edit: I forgot the the bus we took - was after the park closed - so this will not work for y'all - still easy fix, when you walk out towards the buses - take the first bus you see to that resort and then hop on the DTD bus...

There are no buses from Epcot or any theme park or the TTC to Downtown Disney. DTD only services the Disney Resorts.
Actually there is - but only after park closing - I guess that's not the option for them as they are leaving earlier in the day- But we did indeed catch the bus from Epcot to Downtown disney in December...

I am a Disney bus driver. I assure you, at no point in the day are there any buses from Epcot to Downtown Disney. What might have happened is that you got a Animal Kingdom Floater bus, and the drivers next assignment was Downtown Disney, so they were kind enough to take you directly. However, this is very very rare.

we have been there to the show the last two years. the pre show starts about 15 minutes before the show. so along as your there by 8 45 you will not miss the clowns that do there stuff. as long you have your tickets before you get there then you will not have to wait in the line downstairs to get in. that is where you will wait the longest if you don't have them before hand.

I don't mean to argue or anything - but they had the sign out that said DTD... It was one of those "caution when wet" type signs that they prop up and just say the name of the park - I remember clearly b/c I was walking backwards talking to someone when I fell over it... :) Now, this was during Christmas time - so there is a possibility that they do not do this all the time... but I assure you we didn't ask anyone for a ride - we got in the line for DTD and that's where they went... I believe you if you say they don't do this all the time - by no means am I saying that they do - :D Hope this helps explain it a little better - Greg PM'd me yesterday with that same question - and when I thought about it - I remembered that in the past there weren't regular bus's to DTD... makes sense with the parking issues and all... But perhaps during the holiday season when the parks are packed they run them... I don't know - I don't drive bus's there... but I do know that we did catch one there... does this help at all?

I think the quickest way to get there is just walk to the main entrance of Epcot and catch a taxi. It will probably cost $10-15. You'll be cutting it a bit close and may want to move your PS to 6 or 6:30. You can easily be in the restaurant for 90 min.
