Taxi?

I know you can get taxis at WDW, but I have two questions. Where are the taxis located at each park? Do regular child safety laws apply to taxis? In other words, does my two year old have to have her chlid seat? We stay on property and tolerate the Disney bus system, so just wondering if this alternative could work late at night after the fireworks etc. Thank you!

There is usually a taxi area in the front near the bus area. A CM will be able to point you exacty where to go. And yes, you do need a car seat- FL law says kids under 3 have to be in one and only public buses are exempt. Not to mention imagine if the taxi was pulled over ($$$ ticket) or got in an accident. If you aren't bringing your own seat most taxis provide one if needed.

As mentioned, the taxis are usually near the buses, but more specifically the *non-Disney* bus parking areas at most places...
So at the Studios and Animal Kingdom, look for the charter bus parking. I think Epcot's might be in the middle of the first part of the Disney bus area.

For Magic Kingdom, take the monorail to the TTC, and the taxi area is off to the far *right* (toward the Poly), beyond the tram loading area. Or, just take the monorail to any monorail resort and get a taxi out front by the bell stand.

If you have to get to the TTC (or a resort) for a taxi forget it. I thought there might be some near the buses at MK. The only time I was thinking about a taxi would be right after Wishes. The kids are usually very fussy or asleep for the one late night at MK, and I thought that getting a taxi might be worth avoiding the mad rush and cattle conditions on the buses after it is over. Sounds like it is not worth it due to where the taxis are and the car seat issue. Maybe we will watch from the train station end of Main Street and make a dash for the buses right before the end of Wishes.

I just thought of a follow-up question ... are the lines for buses and the crowds on Main Street during Wishes bad in September? This will be our first time in Sept, and we were kind of disappointed (b/c we have DVC) when we found out Disney was offering free dining for Sept. We know 4 other families that changed their travel dates from Aug, Oct, & Nov to September for the deal. Looks like September might not have crowd levels at 1, 2, & 3 anymore :brick:

Is there a taxi service that Disney usually works with? Are vans an option if we have 5 people?

Thanks!

Checker Cab is the one I see most-frequently around property, but I believe they and a couple others are all tied to Mears, which dispatches the closest one. (The number I have stored in my phone for Check Cab is 407-422-2222)

They will send a van if you request one, and I believe it's the same price.
