Taxi service around the World

Good morning everyone.

I'm 113 days out from our trip and am trying to make sure I've got enough cash for everything. We will be staying at Jambo House and I'm wondering what the taxi fare is from the different parks to Jambo House. I'm afraid of missing a bus back to the resort during our travels (which is highly possible) and want to plan ahead for this expense.

Does anyone know what the fares are for two people from the following to Jambo:

Magic Kingdom
Epcot
Hollywood Studios
Animal Kingdom
Downtown Disney

Thanks in advance.

Generally, they will be $25 or less anywhere on property.

I'll ask though: why? Buses run every twenty minutes normally. If it's park closing they run more often. Paying for a taxi is a particularly extravagant approach. If you're plans are so meticulous that missing a bus puts you in need of using a taxi, you are WAY over-planning your vacation and you're likely to be very disappointed.

Relax, go with the flow... It's a vacation, not boot camp!

Buses from the parks run quite frequently and well after park close. About the only place I would consider taking a cab over a bus would be at Downtown Disney.

Even if you are somehow the absolute last guest out of the parks, Disney won't leave you stranded. Buses normally run approx 2 hours after park close. WDWFigment (Tom Bricker) routinely hangs out in the parks 2+ hours after closing taking pictures. And I believe he has reported several times that he was the last guest out of the park, and either security had a van waiting to drop him off at his resort, or a bus was waiting to take him wherever. DTD is really the only place where this might be an issue, but I would be hard pressed for anyone to be hanging out doing nothing for that long after the stores/restaurants close to miss the last bus.

And heck, if you are that adverse to taking the bus, dropping $20 each way to and from quickly adds up to costing more than a rental.

Were planning getting a taxi after our Carriage Ride at PORS to get back to POP. Thinking that taking the boat back to Downtown and then bus back to POP would take quite a long time. Especially after 10pm.

It would. While the boat ride is nice, I would not call it all that fast and the bus ride......well for want of a better term, it sucks. The cab will have you at your door in 20 minutes tops. The ride will be a tad scary so close your eyes and think about Mickey Mouse.:)

Take the boat. I don't see it taking much longer unless of course you have reservations or plans. It is a lovely boat ride! Bus system runs later in downtown disney too!

We do plan on taking the boat to PORS from DTD. Our Carriage ride is at 9pm. So it will be getting late and I imagine we would be getting tired getting close to 10 and would like to just head back to our room.

Plus you never know what kind of mood my wife might be in after taking a romantic carriage ride. Might need to hurry back to the room. ;)

We took a taxi last year from the CR to POFQ. Fare was $14 with tip. There were bus problems leaving the MK bus bays that night so we walked over to the Contemporary and grabbed a cab from there. I don't know how much further on Jambo House would be from FQ but probably not that much.

Don't want to start a new thread, this one should suffice, are there water taxis available from POR to take you to parks? I read that somewhere, but found it hard to believe.

Thank you all for the responses about the taxi service. First let me clarify, a taxi is a last resort for me. The buses do not bother me in the least. I was just concerned that they would be difficult to get to if we were too late in the parks and didn't want to be stranded getting back to Jambo House after a long day out. Since AK closes at 5:00 in the winter we'll likely go over to DTD to roam and again, was only concerned about getting stranded :) The buses don't bother us one bit.

I was also concerned about being able to resort hop easily because I want to take in the holiday decorations at several of the hotels.

Our first trip we stayed at the Poly so we got very use to having the TTC readily available and being able to easily get from place to place. This is only our second trip so just trying to be prepared as possible since we are staying in a completely different area than we did previously.

I have taken cabs from time to time. It all depends on the time, situation, and what I am feeling like. IF it has been a long tiring day and I walk out of a park after closing and see a line 150 people deep for my resort, somtimes that $20 cab ride is woth it. I don't do it too often, but sometimes you look at the cost, and how much easier a cab is, and you do it. As you said, it also makes resort to resort travel a lot easier.
