Has anyone every taken a taxi from Pop to Contemporary? If so how expensive is it? We want to do an early Chef Mickey bfast but we can only take the bus and that means the earliest one we can get is around 9.:)

Buses run a lot earlier than Disney advertises. My guess is they don't want masses of people waiting at the gates so far in advance of RD. The first buses usually begin to make their rounds at about 6:30 or so, although they do come around much less frequent than they do later in the day (maybe every 25-30 minutes or so).

As far as taxis go, I think if you budget $25 or so for every taxi ride you plan to take, that would be playing it pretty safe. It shouldn't cost that much. I don't think I have taken a taxi in WDW that has cost more than $20.

I tried to book earlier at Chef Mickeys but was told that the buses only run 1 hour before park opens which is at 9 so I was told the earliest I should book was 8:50. Does this make sense?

Whoever told you that the buses only run 1 hour before the park opens was mis-informed. Disney advertises that the buses only begin to run 1 hour before the parks open, but it's not the case. Because there are so many different breakfasts at different resorts, buses do begin running a lot earlier than an hour before the parks open. Make the reservation for whatever time you are comfortable with and be out by the bus stop early. If it starts getting to be 30 minutes or so before your ADR (it's never been our experience for us to not be able to get a bus well over an hour before the parks open for an ADR or tour), you won't have an issue getting a cab at Pop.

The buses start a lot earlier than you think. They serve early breakfast in the parks before the open starting with the first ADR at 8:05 am. The buses usually start at 6:45 am that is the earliest I have caught at POP for MK. You should be able to book an early breakfast and have no problem getting there by bus.

Here's another question... Someone stated not to drive to morning Emhs because you won't be able to park until the EMH start. Is this true?

Despite what they say they run quite early...I believe some parks and resorts have 8 AM or earlier breakfasts so they have to accommodate resort people if they need to get there...

That's just nonsense...you can park well before parks open (i believe it's more than an hour sometimes) even during EMH...

I wonder if maybe they were talking about AK. I've heard from a few people who said they arrived early at AK and parking lot hadn't opened yet.

When I worked parking at WDW we were in place and ready at minimum 2 hours before park opening. It was over a decade ago so take it with a grain of salt but I can't imagine they would have changed that all that much.

I had chef adds for 7:45 AM. I asked the front desk when I can get a bus and they told me when the buses run. I think we took a 7AM bus and we told the driver chef Mickey's and were dropped off right in front. There were three other families doing the Same thing. Go ahead and make early adrs and just ask the front desk when you arrive. Have fun! We loved Chef Mickey's!

I've waited to get it at AK before EMH, I was King of the Jungle that day (first to park)...they still let you in an hour before the park opens for EMH (maybe more). whatever it was I had enough time to get on the first run of the safari when all the animals are up and about...

You should double check this...I mean at least as far as I know Disney does not have buses from one resort to another unless that resort is on the same loop. The buses usually are only from resort to parks or dtd (hence they suggest using dtd and trans center as bus terminals to get to other resorts), but hey i could be wrong

Quite often, if you are out at the bus stop that for ahead of RD, the bus driver will ask you where you are going since it doesn't tend to be busy yet. So, if you are getting on the MK bus and the driver asks and you let them know you are heading to CR for CM, often times they will drop you off in front of the resort since it is on the way. There is also a character meal breakfast bus that opperates durring busier times of the year, but I have actually never seen it.

Resort to resort on buses can happen when it is pretty slow. Besides going to CM (not counting after late seating dinner shows), the only other time we have been offered by a Disney bus driver to take us from one resort to another was a DTD driver taking us from BWI (at about 1:00AM, after a night at Jelly Rolls) to POR.

I just don't see a driver dropping someone off at the Contemporary, on a MK bus, considering it's right next to where they are dropped off at MK (we could all use a 5 -min. walk these days and 5 mins is pushing it)...I'm not saying they are jerks, but that just seems way too off SOP for a disney driver to do...

We tried getting off at MK but he told us to wait for him to stop at Contemp. I guess they are used to people using the buses for early morning ADRs and do it as a courtesy. It was at 7AM. Maybe we were just lucky. I remember being surprised.

The buses that are running that early in the morning are running specifically for early morning ADR's. when you get on they'll ask you where you're having breakfast and then they'll tell you if they can take you directly there or not. My guess is that if its close to park opening, then they probably won't be able to go off route and take you directly to the Contemporary. But the MK is a 10 min walk there so it's not bad at all. When we stayed at POP and had a 7am ADR at Boma we were the only ones on the bus, so the driver took us directly there. Check with the front desk to find out when the early bus gets there, and then be at the bus stop before that. Buses don't run that often that early in the morning, so if you miss it you may miss your ADR!
