Anyone have a phone number for a good Taxi. Where would I meet the taxi at MK? About how much would it cost each way? Thanks in advance!

Suggestion -- walk or boat to the Contemporary, or boat to The GF and have the bell folks get you a cab. There are usually cabs waiting there, or they will call one for you. Cabs have to meet you at the cab stand at the parking lot, which is farther

Or, boat or monorail to the TTC -- there is a cab stand there. Or take the bus from there?

You cannot get a cab from in front of the MK. piglet1's suggestion is the same as mine. Walk to the Contemporary and take a cab from there. That is the fastest way. I have taken cabs all over WDW and it is usually $20-$30.

Getting back from DtD is a bit trickier and you are wise to get this info ahead of time. When you get a cab from the Contemporary, ask bell services for the phone number of a cab company, so that you can call them from DtD. Leaving DtD at the end of the night is always an ordeal.

I do not believe there is direct bus service between the Transportation and Ticket Center and Downtown Disney, but bus service to Downtown Disney is offered from the Contemporary.

I think going to the Contemporary is your best option, regardless if you want to take a taxi or decide to take a bus. The Transportation and Ticket Center is further away and getting to the Grand Floridian will take longer than getting to the Contemporary (and if you take the monorail it goes to the Contemporary first).

FYI, the Checker Cab phone number is 407-422-2222. (I have a whole WDW section in my cell phone contacts list) They're the company most-often seen around property. (I think they're also an off-shoot of Mears)

Resort taxi's are mears. Taxi stand in parking lot is anything and everything. Avoid the gypsy taxi's and catch one at a monorail resort. Know your approximate distance. Contemporary is about 7 miles to DTD, $20-25, depending on traffic? plus tip

Also make sure you know the fastest route. A less-than reputable taxi driver from the Contemporary might try to bring you past the Polynesian and down World Drive and then get caught up in all the traffic lights along Buena Vista Blvd. past Boardwalk and CBR. The route the Disney buses take past Fort Wilderness has far fewer traffic lights.

(Which brings up another option... If you happen to see a Downtown Disney bus pulling up at the Contemporary as you arrive, you can hop on and save the cab fare)
