Tarzan Rocks to be replaced by a Finding Nemo show?

Wow, finally some "aquatic" animals in ANIMAL Kingdom....:lookaroun :D

I like the fact that this is totally unexpected, surprising, coming out of nowhere type stuff. Thats always good, right? :lookaroun

Perhaps the show will be a bigger version of Crush's little set up at TLS...that would be great (of course I doubt they'll do away with it at TLS seeing as that very popular and getting people into TLS, but it has so much promise). Maybe this is a new breed of show for Disney. Maybe its not so much a show centering on music, but maybe its more of a visual thing.

Question....How much room is there in that area for expansion?

First, I love Tarzan, one of my favorite Disney movies. I hated Tarzan Rocks! Good to see it go. But this Finding Nemo thing? I liked Nemo I really did and was pretty excited about him entering the Living Seas because it fit. But I think the show will be out of place in that area. FOTLK is out of place where it is too why make the same mistake. As for the show I don't doubt it will be good because I think Disney is on the right track with all the improvements coming up but wait for an Australia land to open up or at least have some sort of theming to enter it because it will stick out like a sore thumb...

I don't know how the heck they are going to do Nemo. The Ice version is rediculouse looking with those costumes. I'd perfer that they make the theater apart of Asia, and put in a Jungle Book show or something. Nemo is getting kinda old.

Not to drift thie thread too much, but that would be one of the saddest things ever. Granted, the shows could use more of a visual emphasis, but this trend away from music in attractions is not good, IMHO, especially family ones. Luckily the newest ones (i.e. Soarin') have great soundtracks (granted, sans lyrics), but I hope the music continues because it is the fastest way to create memories (physically).

O.K. Back to the topic at hand. I still think the ONLY way for this to work is if it is a gateway for a new Australia area.

Nemo is coming somewhere...

Okay here it goes, this is like my 2nd post, but I actually feel like I have some kind of related news to a rumor for once. So don't kill the messenger, I'm just passing on what I learned today...

It's a long story, but I was talking about Disney with a coworker today. Apparently her friend works for a Tony Award winning composer (Avenue Q) who she was told is writing music for an attraction based on Finding Nemo. Her friend was going to be taking the trip down with him to WDW to meet with Disney and take a look at the space that would be used.

Now I realize that he could simply be writing new music for Living Seas if a full Nemo overlay was going to continue there. But personally I'm not sure that you bring in a Broadway composer to write background music for an aquarium. And I find it interesting that Avenue Q was also mentioned in another post on this thread.

So take this as you wish, but I tend to believe something is on the way soon.

^^ Well Disney has done crazier things then bring in a broadway composer to work on liveing seas so i'm hope this has to due with the "nemo cabs" and not a nemo show at ak. (ex of above: Not giveing love to COP ect.)

In the latest issue of the All Ears Net newsletter, it was posted that:

The Theater in the Wild, in Animal Kingdom's Dinoland USA, will be fully enclosed in early 2006. Tarzan Rocks!, the 7-year-old stage show that is performed in the theater, will subsequently close so that this refurbishment can be implemented. An exact closing date for Tarzan Rocks! has not been established. When the Theater in the Wild reopens, a new stage show will debut in the renovated location.

Whoa...who would have thought emotions could get so high over a random Tarzan show?

There are fans of everything at WDW, so no matter how random you think it may be, to some people its the best thing at WDW.

NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! I don't want it to go. Which is the e-mail I use to complain about these things again? It was something new out of the ordenary for disney to do for a show. Why do things that are one of a kind get kicked to the curb? I will miss it so, I can't even imagine a nemo show there. It's invaded Epcot & TLS thats enough!!! I'll stop ranting now & just puke at the fact nemo will take over ANOTHER area.

Sea Base Alpha would need a new pre-show holding area and theater film if the theme was carried throughout. Both would need music.

The movie itself was bad so I'm glad they remove anything related to it from the parks.

Also, Tarzan is such an overdone property I don't think of it as a "Disney" movie, unlike things like Peter Pan or Pinnochio, which Disney essentially made the model for and people assume they ARE Disney originals.

Hercules, which again isn't a Disney property, was at least an enjoyable movie, but I'm glad they don't emphasize it.

I agree. I think Hercules was a much better movie than Tarzan, but there really isn't a need for that in the parks.

This is a very heated topic. I keep seeing it pop up under new messages. And every time I do, I think of people dressed up as fish just like the Nemo on Ice show but with rollerskates like the Tarzan Rocks show, doing stunts and whatnot. And I giggle and giggle and giggle.

Although I am having a hard time visualizing the Nemo show, at the very least, it is something new and different.....for all of the people around here that complain about things being cloned, old tech, whatever......this show sounds like it would be away from the typical Disney formula......

Good or not, that is yet to present itself, but at least they are trying something new, and that in itself is good.

That's pretty much what I was trying to say with my post on here. If this does happen I'm sure I'll like it more than Tarzan Rocks, but I too am having trouble picturing how they would do it. And if the show does happen and it doesn't turn out to be all that great, at least Nemo is still going to be represented well over at the Living Seas.
