Hey all, checking in quickly between unpacking boxes...we taped the sign language interpreters on the 3rd show and the entire show at the 3:15 performance (I can get copies to folks as soon as I get some Video CDS to reocord on)....Later on I will sit down and type out our experience (we saw all 4 shows that day) right now I am still too emotional about it...we went to see Everest today and took the Asia bridge, I can't go past the theatre yet...

I took plenty of pictures, I have an especially good one of Tarzan *giggles like a middle school girl* I was lucky too, I got to go backstage and have a meet and greet with the cast. They were all teary eyed, so was I! *sniff sniff*

BTW, it was really nice to meet you Kat!

Cool. Glad you managed to get to see so many performances on the last day.

I would be MORE than willing to send you a whole bunch of blank CDs to help you be able to send copies out to people (that is extremely kind of you to do this!). I am just thankful people were able to video tape some shows since I unfortunately do not own a video camera! Just let me know! Thanks!

I could not believe the line that day for the last show, it was almost backed all the way to Dinosaur. They had managers from other areas of the park out there just to do crowd controle. Anyway where were you seated, I have never seen a more emotional show than that last performance, and I would like nothing more than to have a copy to hold onto. Where were you seated for the 3:15 show, did you get a good film of it including the crazy wild applause at the end where they could not close the curtain. Can I buy a copy from you please.

I saw all 4 performances Saturday too, and I'm still too emotional to think about them too much. I really wanted to see the parts of AK I've been neglecting on Sunday, but facing AK without Tarzan Rocks was more than I could take. I won't walk that way for a very long time... I think I saw ya'll from my spot on the other side of the stage, but as I was traveling alone, I couldn't dare lose my spot to come say hello.

I haven't been able to look at whatever pictures and video I got, and since it wasn't from a tripod and I was rather emotional and involved in the show, it may look pretty shaky. :o I wanted to pay more attention to enjoying the last shows than to the video camera itself, but if anything looks decent, I'll let everybody know.

closing thoughts

Do you think anyone in that theater had a dry eyes when they brought all the casts out on stage for the finale and they all sang you'll be in my heart. I never wanted to leave the theater after that show, and for a while there I thought we wouldn't have too, everyone just kept standing there and applauding and the curtain kept re-opening, I do not think the cast had ever seen anything like it. I really want to see that moment captured on film.

Please do let us know, NitroStitch! I would love a copy, regardless! And, I would love to get my hands on any and every video of the final performances that I can (regardless if I have more than one of a show, or if the quality isn't good)...sometimes I just like to take the audio from videos and make a nice CD to listen to. Wow...this truly is depressing! I LOVE YOU TARZAN ROCKS!

I was there for that performance, and I have to say, I was watching the interpreters more than the show....

We were down in the front row in the Wheelchair seats, I would be happy to make you a copy, but I would NEVER consider charging for it. Yes I believe Andrew did get the standing ovation...

Yeah, I know what you mean....I am not even sure that I can go see whatever they put in that theatre... Andrew wanted to watch the tape last night and I just couldn't face doing it...

Let me know the next time you come down and we can get together :)

I've been doing sign with MJ since she was 13 months old, she only says about 30 words and only a few of them are understandable by people other than me. Andrew hasn't gotten on the bandwagon and learned it yet, but he needs to cause she will be five in a week and a half and she ain't talkin' she only signs single words, but she learns about 4 or 5 new signs a week, this week she learned how to tell me "No" in sign...sigh! :p Anyway, if you would like a copy of the interpreters show, let me know, we taped them for the entire 3:15 show...

Edited because I can't type.....

I can't imagine that anyone had dry eyes for a while. Quite a few of us just kept sitting there crying after most of the crowd finally departed. I still get teary and have chills every time I try to tell anyone about it. (And of course they look at me like I'm nuts :p ).

I'm with you, the idea of reentering that area for a new show just seems profane. It's probably going to be like trying to walk through the renovated Animation attraction, walking through the places were animators used to create magic. I did it once, and I just can't do it again.

One reason I won't be able to get to the video from this weekend will be because I'm home so little for the next few weeks (I will be up for the EE AP and DVC preview this weekend), and the rest of the reason is knowing it's going to be really, really hard to watch.

I guess we'll have to get our courage up and get to editing fairly soon, to share with those who missed out. :)

Yes, I'm dying to see this video. Before so far away, my last time was in Dec.

It sounds like a great ending to a great show.

I, too, am sad that the show is over and that I didn't get to see it since last Feb. And it was a rainy day show with no roller blading, at that. So the last time I saw an actual performance live was in Sept of 04. Oh well.

Yes, it will be sad having a new show there, but it's not gonna stop me from going into the theatre when a new show opens. Comes with the territory here on Broadway. Shows open and close on a weekly basis and new ones take their spot. Can't get new shows til others ones leave. I guess I'm just used to it. I hope you'll all eventually re-enter the theatre because the new show may be just as good if not better.

Can't wait to see the video of the last show, by the way! Thanks for taping it and offering to share!
