I heard that after March 1st, Disney decided to 86 Tapestry Of Nations/Dreams parade. If so, what's going in its place?

There is nothing there right now but are plans for a possible parade in the future.

If you want more details, search.

86- kinda means to terminate...and get rid of...

It would make sense...Disney can't put the money into a new parade at Epcot....its going to take more than a new parade to increase attendence....
They'll prob add another one in the future...

Yes, DisneyDudette is correct -- 86 means to "get rid of". Back in the day when I used to work at TGI Fridays (even worked at the one in Lake Buena Vista for a couple of weeks just to get out of the Naples, FL store), we used to fling that number around alot...

"86 Loaded Potato Skins!"

But we'll save the TGI Fridays War Stories for another board, another forum, and definitely another time. Now excuse me while I go find "the mouse"

:D

yeah... and it wasn't that amazing.

anyway.. back on topic. I worked at WDW after 9/11, and the only reason that they had anything new after that was that it was already there, and they didn't need to hire anyone new to staff it (they already had enough people to staff the new parades/attractions VS- having to hire for a new resort)

yeah that is true....i was not in a clear state of mind last night...too much magic potion.....I was mostly speaking out of anger or frustration i guess. But I will say that even when there are budget cuts and whatever, they still do stuff...but i guess that it could all have been in the works and no one really knew about it and they just went ahead with it anyway...who knows.
sorry if i upset anyone...

Not happening. Although many people loved the parade from a viewing standpoint, there was alot of bad stuff happening due to it to the CMs involved.

Many, perforners were hurt, SERIOUSLY due to the puppets,(some members of this board). Wind, weight, a combination of both took their tolls on the CMs.

Unfortunately for them, some have been left with serious, life-long back problems from this, among other things. I'm sure if you do a search you'll many many other discussions about this, and some will mention specifics.

Welcome to the Boards though!

My back hurts :( However, it's not only the parade to blame, but also Disney's half-assed workers comp department who discharged me back to work before I was ready, requiring me to call in sick for nearly a month while I attended physical therapy, creating quite a sizable financial hardship for me, and putting my job in jeopardy as Disney could have easily terminated my employment in the middle of my impromptu sick leave.

Thankfully though that didn't happen and I was able to continue my employment and live through the joy that is getting terminated as a result of a self defense maneuver in reaction to a guest attacking me.
