Taking treats back on the plane....

I would reeeeeaaallly like to bring some treats from Boulangerie Patisserie (Chocolate Mousse and Napoleon, mmmm!) home on the plane but I'm a little worried about security at the airport. The TSA App I have says you can bring cakes/cupcakes/etc. but I'd hate to spend the money, only to have them take it (I know there's always a chance of that). The real question is, has anyone else ever done the same thing and encountered any problems? Thanks!

If I could bring back a suitcase FULL of Disney foods and treats that wouldn't get demolished, I most certainly would! :)

I bring back cookies and rice krispy mickeys all the time (gotta get rid of those snack credits),but I have sen it go both ways, I saw a women with practicalty a whoke picnic get threw security just fine while I saw somone forced to throw cupcakes away. I think it all depends on the tsa agent you get.

There's a place in the North End of Boston called Mike's Pastries that is quite famous. I have flown home with a couple of boxes from there. The TSA guy only threatened to take them jokingly because he wanted to eat the goodies himself. Also, my sister-in-law has flown with pastries from The Cake Boss guy's bakery. I don't believe that you'll have a problem.

go for it! just no liquids till you are threw security then you can purchase drinks and bring them on the plane. We always do this in case we get stuck on the tar mat or have turbulence and they can't serve because of it.

In 2010 my wife and I had not used all of our Disney dining meals by the time we were ready to leave. So we bought 6 chicken tender meals and brought them home with us on the plane. No problems with TSA. We had a stop on the way home were everyone but us and the copilots girlfriend got off. So we shared our chicken tenders with them while we waited for the plane to reload.

There was a local story here in NH about TSA confiscating a cupcake because it had to much frosting on top. The theory was that the TSA agent wanted it for himself.

You should be fine, as long as you remember that TSA can decide to confiscate anything at anytime for any reason. So if you get someone who is particularly hungry you might lose it for "security" reasons.
