taking newbies to a couple...

so a group of 6 of us are going for my bachelor (non)party next month for 5 days. a few of us are disney world fanatics and the other few have never been. we're skipping the dining plan so we can burn more time in the parks, but i definitely want to take them for a couple classic/must-do disney dining experiences. i've made a couple reservations but i'm not opposed to editing them if anyone's got better suggestions.

i've gone with breakfast at ohana and dinner at san angel inn. i figure that gives them one character breakfast (how could a noob not have one?) and one place with outstanding, immersive theming. any better ideas?

If this is a group of straight men, I'm going to suggest switching dinner in Mexico to dinner at Restaurant Marrakesh. Congrats on your engagement!

yeah, straight men. and thanks...

i've not been to marrakesh; i'll go check out some photos. maybe we'll just pop in the tequila bar in the san angel building for a shot and quick look-around.

Maybe not for a meal, but I'd suggest a drink or two at Raglan Road. If you need a similar break, a quick visit to the Tune-In Lounge at Studios might be nice - get a little of the unique theme of that place while not sitting through a full meal there with a group of grown men. And I always suggest a pint or two with Carl at Rose and Crown - best barkeep on property, by far.

Come on you Spurs!

Oh, Rose & Crown is a must. And of course I always wear a Spurs shirt through Epcot for the cheers and jeers around the UK pavilion. ;)

Congrats on your engagement! How about the Garden Grill for a character meet and greet. Nothing like meeting Mickey Mouse for a first timer!

Since it's a bachelor party, I say plan your meals for where the food and drinks are good. For me, that would include breakfast at Kouzzina, lunch at the Cabana Bar at the Dolphin or the Wave lounge at the Contemporary, dinner at Bluezoo (and don't skip their lounge either), a stop at the Rose & Crown pub, a couple hours at Jellyrolls on the Boardwalk, and a late night at Raglan Road. Portobello's bar is also a good stop for drinks and meatball sliders.

Wave is on the agenda, as well. While not an "experience" sort of place, the food is outstanding and it's in our hotel, so it's a no-brainer.

I'm sure we'll head to Raglan Road to close an evening or two (if I've not run them ragged during the day) since the parks will be closing so early. Really wish we'd have a couple 3 am emh nights, but oh well.

Don't you guys NEED a steakhouse on your list?!? I've never been to LeCellier or Yachtsman so I can't give you an honest recommendation on them but I can tell you the Turf Club Bar & Grill was very good with a masculine atmosphere (to me anyway) and I had the best steak ever at California Grill.

Good point. Shula's would be a good one if the group doesn't find the price point to be cost prohibitive. The football theme, dark wood and the Scotch and cigar menu is all very bachelor-esque.
