Taking Newbie's on our trip...

Me and my Dad are going to the World this July for two weeks with my friend and her dad. They've never been to any Disney park before! Although me and Dad enjoy Disney (I have an obsession with certain Disney films and music...) but we aren't the biggest Disney know-it-alls when it comes to the parks because we don't have enough money to fly out to Florida all the time :( We live in the UK.
I email my friend links to youtube and also showed her this site, in the hopes she'll start planning rides and shows she wants to do. :)
Just wanted some opinions on what is a "must do" for Newbies, and anything special that I can show them?
Thanks

2 weeks gives you the luxury of getting all the must do's in. Just remember to slow down and space it out. You don't have to do everything in the first 4 days. It's gonna be hot so avoid the afternoons at the parks. The last thing you want is for your newbs to miserable from the heat.

I try to take newbies with me on every trip. I love seeing everything through their eyes.

You have a long amount of time to be there and that will help you a lot. Go to a park when it opens, take a break at your hotel mid day and come back when the weather has cooled down.

You should be able to see every attraction in 2 weeks. allearsnet has a list of every attraction at each park. Since it will be crowded in July, pick 10 a day that you want to do.

If you are staying at a nice hotel, take a day to enjoy it. Take time to enjoy Downtown Disney and the water parks as well.

Have fun!

Agree with the 2 posts. Take advantage of all that time to really make a vacation. No need to rush, enjoy the pool and definitely declare at least one day mid trip a no park day. It is very refreshing. Maybe even check out a MK tour to take in some history. Where are you staying? I would also suggest at least one signature dinner, maybe a late California Grill and watch MK fireworks. Not sure what the budget is but a Bay Lake fishing excursion could be fun with the dads.

Agree with the above. The last few times we've gone, we've taken a friend of my daughter's. Someone who has never been before. We've been so many times it had started to get "ho-hum". Having a newbie along brought back a lot of the old fun.
Where are you staying? That might make a difference because of transportation and extended hours depending if you're on property or not. As already stated, keep cool, don't rush. Park hopper passes are nice because you can go back for re-do's. Water parks? Two weeks, are you going to want to do other Orlando sites like Universal? A lot depends on what the dads like to do. If they get annoying, make them go on It's a Small World!

I thought I wrote it but I must have deleted it! Oops. We're staying offsite, in a villa about 10/15 minutes drive from the World. We're hiring a car (obviously) and I'm not actually sure of our budget either! It's a package holiday that my friends dad won, (lucky thing) but I will check it out :)
I quoted you for another reason, an MK tour? I must sound really dense but where could I check that out?
Thanks for all the replies :) we're definitely doing the water parks and mid afternoon breaks, I've been to Florida in the summer before...humity=wow. ;)

Go buy a book. I like the Unofficial Guide to Disney World. Lots of good information in there. I treat it as a bible before trips. Two weeks of Disney World will be awesome!
