hi everyone  just got a question (again):

im thinking about ordering some take out food from this little place that does chinnese food from kissaimme and they do free delivery, so my question is this would they be alright passing through "security" on the gate to the resort or would there be a problem?

anyone had food delivered before onto property?

I'm guessing that if they can't get onto Disney properties, they'll tell you that when you order. I imagine that Disney isn't pleased with people ordering from off-site estsablishments, but I don't think they'd be able to bar the delivery guy entry.

If the delivery guys get hassled, they'd just tell you they don't deliver. You don't pay until they get it to you, there's no money in lying to you.

I know that there used to be a pizza delivery service at the resorts, and as I recall, it was not bad. I'm not sure if they still do this though.
Does anyone know any more about this?

Yeah--you can get food court pizza delivered to your room. I think a 14 inch pizza, with service fees and tip, is about $85.

I was talking about Pizza Hut, Dominos, etc. delivering to the resorts.

Does the Chinese place have a website? Email them to see if it's a problem.

Heh.............heh, heh........heh, heh, heh, heh, heh!!!!!!!!

The Chinese place I go to uses a calculator circa 1981 to total up your bill.
Website?!?!?

While I don't think Domino's and Pizza Hut are that great, they are far better than the pizza on property and definitely much cheaper.
The pizza at Mara is not too bad. But I'd still have the African Stew over the pizza any day :slurp:

When we stayed at the Wynfield Inn on Westwood Blvd (name has since changed, I think), we ordered Domino's pizzas a couple of times.

When I opened the door the second time, the delivery guy said "hey, have I been here before?"!! We were rather embarassed to admit it, so we said no! lol :o

As for delivering to on-site resorts, I can't help you there..

The pizza delivery service provided by Disney is really expensive, with the previously mentioned delivery and service charge - it would be much easier to buy the pizza personally and take it to the room yourself.

I would also like to know if Dominos can deliver to on-site resorts, because Domino's rules!

:slurp:

I would be happy if there was a Subway over at Downtown Disney, although I think it would clash with The Earl of Sandwich.

There were meatball subs at the foodcourt over at All Star Movies. They were pretty good, but not as good as Subway!

We are staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge in May, does the foodcourt over there have exactly the same food as the All Stars - ie are the pizza's the same? And is there a much larger selection of food at the AKL foodcourt?

All this talk of food is making me hungry - lol :slurp:

Deluxe Resorts do not have a foodcourt... they have 2 sitdown restaurants and a good sized snackbar that serves fastfood type meals. Scroll down to the AKL and check out the menus: http://allearsnet.com/menu/menus.htm#res

I have found that most of the pizza tastes the same no matter where you get it and it doesn't measure up to NY style. (and no Domino's or Pizza Hut please).

I have one question though... with all of the different types of foods available in WDW why order out? Any price savings will be eaten up in delivery charges.

never had a pizza at disney.

what i have found is that i asked for a plate of scrambled eggs and the girl behind the counter said that i couldnt have scrambled eggs by itself i could choose either bacon or sausages, no thanks!!!

i would order a take out coz its different than everything being "disney" not that thats a bad thing or anything, change is good!!

you did prove a good point though saying about the delivery charges, what im going to do is stick with my original plan -buying stuff from wallgreens (twizzlers :slurp: ).

Bringing stuff in and using a fridge or cooler/ice is the best way to go. You can bring in a bunch of breakfast food & snacks and save a bunch of money. Even though we bring water for the parks we still get the refillable mugs. There are 4 of us and we each get at least 6 and sometimes 10 drinks a day. Really saves money on soda, coffee & tea.

I've never had trouble just getting eggs or a sandwich without all of the stuff that goes with it...but I always have people to help me finish a meal anyway.

what im doing is taking bottles of water in my hand luggage and in my big case coz i can always put them in ice whaen i get there. im also taking with me small packets of cereal that fill a bowl and maybe pop tarts and marshmallows for my camp fire. all these will be put in a small cooler bag so i can put stuff in them to chill when im in the parks. plus before i go anywhere im buying a refillable mug coz there worth it especially coz im there for 3 weeks.

i will get a subway or something like that when i go to the beltz and get the i-ride up and down international drive and take it back to the room. coz subs over here are not even worth comparing to the ones from the U.S.

I guess it's all down to the definition of "food court". That's what I would call Mara at Animal Kingdom Lodge. They have a reasonable range of things from small nibbles through pizzas and salads up to the fantastic African Stew and Zebra Domes :slurp:

Plus I've not been to All Stars, so can't compare.

I think of food courts as more open air with different counters/stations - sort of like the food in The Land. *shrugs*
