We paid $100 in July. We paid $75 a couple of years ago. It seems we got more for our money at Disney years ago. We won't renew when it expires. It is not worth it. We will do more counter services instead which you mostly couldn't use with TIW anyway. We get a 10% discount with our AP and Visa card so we'll use those instead. Of course this is assuming we renew our AP's. Let's see the price increase first.;)

With 4 adults for most trips, and even just the 2 of us, that still easily works for us. We visit lounges that all take TiW, and we have saved over $100 just with our 4 day trip last week, and we have 2 more trips before ours expires next Oct. We'll end up saving $300-$400 easily. Also remember that most of the discounts and DDP programs do not include alcohol, and only the TiW is taken at the lounges. Obviously, if you don't go to those, you may not save as much. YMMV, but it will still work for us.
My husband & I are in the same boat as you. We also frequent the lounges that take the card & eat in at least one signature each weekend visit we do. Also happy to see that Morimoto Asia accepts this. DDP doesn't work for us as there are lots of times I get a salad & appetizer instead of getting an entree and if we eat dessert, husband & I split something. DDP just doesn't make sense for how we eat. TIW still works for us - for now.

Yes....free dining...A wonderful value in itself and even greater value for DVC members :cautious:.

free dining is what makes people like me pretend to be people like you for a week and a half. but hey you have a real estate stake.

on the flipside i could argue the massive explosion and over reliance on DVC sales has ruined my own experience the same way free dining has ruined menu after menu.

The only thing that makes me consider renewing the Tables In Wonderland cars is the special events for the cardholders but they haven't held any in a long time. I would love to do the Great Movie Ride dinner again, or finally do the Universe of Energy dinner. Lately all they have been offering are the ultra pricey Jiko wine dinners and organic dinners at The Wave. I would have to sit down and really do the math to see if I got my $100 worth of my card this past year. I found myself eating and drinking on property less and less. Food quality and service has gone down while prices increase. One time this year I purposely did not use my Tables card because I couldn't justify giving this server the automatic 18% gratuity. She was either having a bad night, or this has become the acceptable level of service at Disney restaurants. If I felt the quality of the restaurants were the same as when I bought my first Disney Dining Experience (if anyone remembers them) card then I would have no problem paying the $150 but sadly I don't.

Yeah, this sounds like a phase-out to me. When it becomes too close to call and you could easily fall on the side of not saving enough money to make it worth it, people will slowly back away from it and then it will be discontinued to due to low demand.

and when they need us former TIW'ers to start frequenting their restaurants again they'll reintroduce the program as something else with new sets of benefits and perks.

i think you could be right steve. the amount of food you need to buy to justify the purchase is absurd.

It's not really that difficult if you have a large party and you have a couple of table service meals. My family often goes down with my parents and we can easily hit $150-200 for a meal. A few of those plus some character buffets and TiW can pay for itself in a single weeklong trip.

Granted that the value depends heavily on your situation and eating habits.

Doesn't this include some kind of parking perk? That might be an added value for some.
But it seems like you need to have a decent size family and frequent drinks to make it worth while.
We only get TS 2 or 3 times a year, so it's not in the cards for us.

If anything, this will push me to save even more money than I have in the past. Historically, when I buy the TIW I find myself taking us out to eat on site much more than I normally would. So, I won't be buying it - we'll be eating in the room more, and be trying new places outside the parks.

Woo hoo, here comes the savings!

Last few trips that what we were doing already, This just cements it which is sad because dining USED to be a fun part of the experience but the value is no longer there for us. Mediocre food at michelin three star prices just does not get it done for us. A buffet for $39-59 bucks depending on season at Boma Fuggetaboudit when it was $29 yeah it was a reasonable value, But we don't throw out fiscal sanity just because it's vacation.
