Tables in Wonderland Confusion

Hi guys. I know there have been TIW discussions before, so excuse me. I just recently read about the card on DisneyDining.com, and I'm a little confused. There was a list of all participating locations, and in Epcot they didn't list being about to use card at drink kiosks, but in a paragraph below it said how nice it would be to have the card to use on the $9 Grand Marnier Slush in the France pavilion. So help me out here please! Can you use the card at the kiosks as well? What about during Food & Wine? Also, do most people recommend the card? Thanks!!

As far as I'm aware, it is only valid at Table Service restaurants listed, with the exception of the Value resorts and Animal Kingdom where it's also valid at most of the counter service locations. But no discounts at kiosks, regular or festival.

Ok, thanks. That definitely answers my question. Now I need to decide if its actually worth it for us. On the list, we will probably be having 5 meals at Landscape of Flavors, breakfast at Crystal Palace, dinner at Akershus, lunch at Flame Tree BBQ, and a lunch at Sci-Fi. It's just my DH and I, with our 2 year old twins. We will also have seasonal annual passes, so the TIW card would be $100. Besides this upcoming trip, we will probably be back to the world 2-3 other times in the year. Anybody have any advice for us? Thanks!

You are correct! There are also resort bars where you can use it.

I also have 2 year old twins. Are you exhausted too? :arghh::arghh:

I would get it. Anytime I go to WDW more than once a year I get the TIW card. I feel like it is the best value they offer. Your kids will probably get meals at some of the table service restaurants, but even without that it would be worth it in my opinion. My husband and I used to get it when it was just the two of us, now its a no brainer.

There are four in our family (a 10 and 8 year old) and now that are son is considered an adult, its even more worth it for us. We go about 4-5 times in a year with our APs, so for us, its well worth it.

Yeah! We took ours on their first trip last October. Be sure to do a character meal, my kids LOVED it!

Do the maths. Look at the menus, and guess what you would eat. Then add it all up, and see if you break even. Normally the breakeven point is about $500 in food since the price increase. More or less depending on your normal tip level since TiW adds in the 18% automatically. I'd figure $20-30 per meal at the food court, thats $100-$150 of your $500 already. $60 at CP, and $90-100 at Akershus, you are looking at close to $300 just for those. Another $50-75 at Flame Tree and Sci-Fi, and you have hit 70-80% of your breakeven. A second or third trip would push it over the top. I'd run your own numbers to see how they compare, but I think it's a no brainer.

We did Crystal Palace also before park opening. This was perfect. My kids were amazed by Winnie the Pooh and Tigger. This ended up being the only character meal we did as we traveled with a large group of family last time. When we go in Feb. I am planning on doing Garden Grill and Hollywood & Vine. Hollywood & Vine because my twins love Disney Junior, and Garden Grill because its family style. I love that I won't have to get up to get the food there. While Crystal Palace is great (and we may end up doing it again in Feb.) it is stressful to have to get the food and risk missing your kids meeting a character, at least it was for me.

We use it and it is totally worth it! Remember, they automatically include the tip!

Like others have said, $500 is the break even number if you buy the card at $100.

And yes, 18% tip is auto added to your bill. But, be careful not to fall into the incorrect math that if you save 20% but add tip of 18%, you only really save 2%. That math assumes you tip 0% to begin with... which if you do, is a whole different discussion.

In the event you do have an experience where you don't feel the 18% is warranted, you can speak with a manager to have it adjusted. I've never had that issue, however.
