We're planning a trip to DL in June, and although we can't make TS reservations quite yet, we are thinking about where we would want to eat. We're definitely doing Wine Country Trattoria and Blue Bayou. Also possibly Carnation Cafe and Carthay Circle Theater. We could use several more suggestions, in both the parks and DTD. No buffets or character dining. Has anyone tried River Belle Terrace? We haven't been since it went to TS (although are a bit disappointed; it was a great QS breakfast location). Thanks!

Cafe Orleans is always a must for us. We also really like Steakhouse 55. Excellent steaks and service, and save room for the huge chocolate layer cake.
Carthay Circle is always a must for us now too, those biscuits are the best. Wine Country is okay if you aren't expecting much more than basic Italian (Olive Garden, which I like Olive Garden), and Carnation is good too and is in our rotation.

Carthay and Steakhouse 55 as well. WCT, I felt the portions were really small and they seemed upset that we didn't drink wine. BB is cool because of the atmosphere but the tables are really close together, its expensive and if your not up front by the ride the experience is a bit less than expected. But if you have never been there I say try it.

I do not like the food at Wine Country Trattoria. Small portions and overpriced. We had to ask for more sauce because there was barely any on the pasta. Before I knew it, our plates were empty and I was not remotely satisfied. The drink menu is good, though and I like the music loop. I was raised on the east coast on real Italian, huge portions. Italian in SoCal constantly disappoints me.

You sound like me when I had "Mexican" in New York.

This. Trattoria is an overpriced Olive Garden, and Olive Garden is overpriced. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Buca di Beppo needs to sponsor that place. For a nice Disney touch, instead of the Pope table, they could have the CEO table. You can spin Bob Iger's head around.

Glad I won't be eating there. I usually eat more than your typical person and I would not be impressed if I was still hungry after my meal.

Being half Sicilian, second generation I'm going to chime in. Are you talking about real Italian food, like the Italian food people would eat in Italy? Or like New York /Brooklyn "goomba" style food. Like Buca di Beppo style. If you re talking about real Italian food I think the West Coast is all over it. At least LA /SoCal or sure. Not that there is anything wrong with Buca or that style of Italian food ( I eat it from time to time) but I just kind of classify it in a separate category kind of like one would do when saying Taco Bell is "Mexican." The whole Buca di Beppo style of Italian food and portions is an American adaptation of Italian food.

Anyway I agree with your comment on the Wine Country trattoria. Not very good at all. I think they re attempting to serve real Italian food but they aren't pulling it off.

Then again they re not really claiming to be an authentic Italian Restaurant. They re going for the Whole California Winery Italian fusion thing which I guess one can argue isn't authentic Italian to begin with.

I'm afraid to think about what she might be doing with a spinning Iger head.
You're right to be afraid. I couldn't handle something like that.
The other day my husband calls out to me from another room as he's doing a crossword puzzle,

"What is the name of Disney's CEO?"
Me: *giggle* Bob Iger *giggle*
Him: "Okaaaaayyy."

lol
