I wish I had a pet to worry about...my schedule just doesn't allow for taking care of a pet right now. Anyway, best wishes for your kitty, and you did the right thing, no doubt.

Such sad news. I've had 2 cats over the past recent years die within weeks of returning from vacation. With a 13 year old dog sitting here, it's always a fear of mine that something will happen while I'm gone. Spend time with your cat. You'll know you gave them the same love they showed you. You don't want to second guess yourself later.

You made the right decision. It would have been horrible to be at Disney and have someone call you with the news that the cat had died while you were away, or returned home to the sad news. Your beloved cat deserves to be held, comforted and loved by you as it nears the end of it's life. A pet that has given you a lifetime of devotion, unconditional love and joy deserves nothing less. From one who has been there many times, I cry with you. And I do believe our pets have a place in Heaven waiting to be rejoined with us. Heaven wouldn't be Heaven without our loved ones ( our pets ) with us.

Well, a quote from Lilo and Stitch says it best. "Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind. Or forgotten." And by family, that includes your pets. If there's anything we can do to help, we're here for you.

One of my favorite Disney films and quotes.

You're on a board with people that worship a mouse. I think we all understand that animals are a part of the family and you're the only one that could make that tough decision. Disney can wait.

Sorry to hear this. I also agree that your pets are your family and when something happens to them it is devastating. I had two dogs pass within 8 months of each other and that was just terrible. You will get through it and you will get back to Walt Disney World ... stay strong!

Totally understand! Leaving my pets is the only part about going on vacation that I do not like. My dog is part of the family. I pet sit for that very reason. I wouldn't want anyone to have to worry about the treatment of their animals while they are on vacation. You are supposed to get away from any worry you may have and you don't want to worry about your pets while you are on vacation.
Hoping your cat gets better!
