Switched to POFQ from Pop

I was a bit concerned about space with myself, DW, and our two kids ages 11 & 7 all fitting comfortably in a double room at Pop. We don't spend a lot of time at the resort, so we figured it would work ok. I think my kids have each grown a foot since we booked the trip, which made me think we needed more space. Fortunately, I had a bit of a bonus at work, so I thought it would be best to upgrade. We found a relatively reasonable rate at POFQ so we're switching our reservation. Now, DW says she's a bit disappointed to miss out on the fun theming of Pop (we liked the pictures of the bright themes, huge icons etc.). I'm happy to be going somewhere with a bit more room and reportedly a lot quieter, and she says that does sound like it might be best in the long run. My thought is that we can always take some time to check out Pop and AOA as I expect we will have some time on an AK or DHS day.

So, did we make the right call?

Without a doubt!! POFQ is a wonderful resort; less crowded and more relaxed than Pop. The queen beds are more comfortable than the doubles.

POFQ is our "home" resort. We have stayed there many times and love it. The bus service is good and it is close to DTD(Disney springs). Plus I refuse to sleep in a double bed, just not enough room. Every resort has a different theme but they are all nice. Plus when you are asleep, you are not looking at the theme anyway. :)

You definitely made the right decision. PO, both FQ and RS, is my home resort. I love the theming at POFQ, and the pool area is awesome. You'll love the less crowded, quieter atmosphere - it's so relaxing after a day at the parks.

Don't forget about the added benefit of the boat to DTD/DS, it's much more fun than the bus. AND - saving the best for last - you absolutely have to try the beignets from the food court.

She will LOVEEEEEE FQ!! We just stayed there for the first time 2 weeks ago and both my husband and I agreed it is our new favorite! The themeing(sp?) is wonderful which makes for great photo ops and it has such a cozy feel. Very pretty at night too...and you can walk to Riverside and check that out as well;)

DW wont be disappointed. Check out this site ,www.portorleans.org/
Lots of info regarding POFQ and POR. Good entertainment in the evenings at both resorts and rental bikes or horse drawn carriage rides available at POR. An easy walk to get there.

Thanks for all the replies, everyone. I think we will really enjoy POFQ. I think Pop would have been fun, but not comfortable. We stayed at Coronado last year, and that was comfortable, but not overly exciting in theme (to us) and I hated walking what seemed like forever to get coffee! Sounds like POFQ might just be the best combo of theming, size, comfort, transportation, etc. without staying at a deluxe.

Now if only December would get here sooner!

I think you and your family will really enjoy POFQ, as it is not near as spread out as CS. To me POFQ has a different vibe as it is feels less crowded than most other resorts.
