Looks like they ain't tearing that tree down anytime soon. Hmmm. I wonder if giant polar bears or unhinged French women will attack the Robinson family. From Production Weekly:
A remake of the 1960 perennial family classic "Swiss Family Robinson" is in the works over at Mandeville Films with a start date of September already planned. Penned by Greg Poirier, this new incarnation will be set around the Johann David Wyss novel's original time period at the beginning of the 19th century. The story finds the Robinson family washed ashore on an uncharted tropical island following a stormy shipwreck. On the island, the family builds a home for themselves in a gigantic tree, making a new life whilst battling the island's elements. Production will take place at the Queenslands Warner Roadshow Studios. Mandeville Films is also in production on a remake of the classic "The gy Dog".
