Swimming in January?

I know we CAN do it...but perhaps it not wise? I know each day depends on the temperature, but what have your experiences been if you've gone in Jan? Have you been able to lay out, get some sun, and swim? Is it even warm enough to lay out? THANKS!!!

The pools are heated to a lovely 82 degrees or higher, so all is well in the actual pool. You may well be OK during the daytime when the sun is out, you can get temps in the upper 70s. A lot of it will be how well you cope with being in and out of water in the cooler waether. Have fun!

We were there last January, and we had a couple of days that were down right hot, so swimming was no problem. Also had some very cold days! You just never know with Florida weather. Chances are pretty good you'll have some days that are warm enough.

The pools are warm and thats not the problem. When we swam in Jan. it was about 45-50 degrees out and getting back to your room w/o freezing up was the problem!

When we visited Florida we swam in Feb. I think we thought it was really cold in January. BUT the only reason was because my daughter HAD to swim in the winter B4 leaving Florida. I didn't get in. Just dangled my feet in the hot tub. Fully dressed in pants..lol

Swim, yes

lay out, maybe not. It may get warm enough, it may not.

Somthing that I find really cool, is to go swimming early in the AM when it is cold out. There is a fog from the heated water that hangs over the pool. If there is no wind you can just sort of slip into the water and disappear.

This was our experience, too. We visited in Jan 2007- 4 days, the temps were in the high 70's/low 80's, and we swam and laid by the pool. The other 3 days, we shivered in long sleeved shirts, hoodies, and jeans- lows in the 40's, highs in the 50's, and very overcast and windy. No way were we swimming in that weather!!
