Swan or Dolphin - Which is More Romantic?

Boy, I've stayed at both, but romance isn't my go to description for either. I love them for what they are basic, very classy, upscale hotels. They have more of a corporate/business feel than the warmth of some of the Disney Deluxe Resorts.

Starwood resorts on WDW property. Swan more intimate but Dolphin bigger with many more amenities. Both share outdoor activities but Dolphin has a much better pool and their Cabana Bar is amazing. Check out BlueZoo for a romantic dinner, free babysitting when you dine there (if you have kids) and ask for AAA rates or other promotions. I never pay full price..beware of mandatory resort fees that are additional. Awesome location. We're big fans.

So Coronado Springs king-bed room would be better suited for me and my girlfriend? Planning on proposing while down there...
Possibly. There is absolutely nothing wrong with S&D, they just don't feel "Disney" to me. However, many have the opposite opinion. I know @wdwmagic loves them.

First and foremost, you will need to know if staying there is really an option. If you need DME or the DDP then S&D are off the table already.

I stayed at Coronado Springs in 2012. It is very romantic at night. The quiet pools are lovely. If you can spring enough $$ to go for a preferred room up near the front I'd say yes. There is a nice margarita bar on the lake side. My favorite area for a room is if you are lake side facing the main building the group off to the right. Their pool is the best too and you can either catch the bus from the main lobby or bus stop #2, which actually loads for the parks first. The walks along all the pretty paths around the pool and the bridge are very lovely at night and first thing in the morning.

Downside, don't eat there. The Food Court/Buffet is bad and pricey for what it is and the tiny QS is very limited and overly crowded to the point that it has to be over occupancy in the morning. Coronado needs to fix their food situation as badly as DHS needs to fix their QS.

I'm a big fan of the Swan and Dolphin as mentioned above. You can't beat the location, or the bed. For me the heavenly bed there is the best on property. The rooms are really comfortable as well.

The grotto pool is one of the best on property, and there are some great restaurants on site, and at the nearby Boardwalk.

Best of all, the pricing is similar to a Disney moderate.

Given the choice, I would take the Swan and Dolphin over any of the Disney moderates.

You are right. I love them. But the rooms and buildings do not scream resort or Disney by any means. Their beds are to die for. I'd like to wrap one up and take it home with me and some of views are spectacular.

They do feel great, but what killed me is they are double beds and not queens.

I've stayed at both S & D a few times. They're great hotels in an excellent location, and usually very reasonable, with a AAA discount. The Swan is a bit smaller, and seems a bit more intimate and peaceful, which is very appealing to me. (I use the food outlets at both hotels; in addition, I also make one visit to the lovely Mandara Spa in the Dolphin.)

I've also stayed at some of the Disney deluxes through the years, and loved all those as well. But in the past few years, the cost of them has been a dealbreaker for me, even with their 30% off promotional discounts in the spring. Anyway, regardless of where you end up staying, may I wish you the happiest vacation!
