Take the deal, we spent 10 days at The Swan last year & did not feel that we missed out on any of the Disney magic.
I didn't suggest that "typical Disney condition" was way above par or that Disney was running what could be considered real luxury-type hotels.Disney condition??? I stayed at the Wilderness lodge 2 years ago and it was crap for what they charged. Rugs were thread bare, refrig didn't work, toilet ran, sloppy patch work in the bathroom dry wall, caved in mattresses. Disney condition is a for people who don't stay in real high end hotels. BTW I have stayed in the Lodge 5 or 6 times and I like it, I just thought the many things were not even motel 6 worthy.
Sounds... Authentic. Ever stay in the cabins at Yellowstone? Complete with hanta virus!Disney condition??? I stayed at the Wilderness lodge 2 years ago and it was crap for what they charged. Me too... Scary!Actually I have. LOL.
We took the deal!
So here's my dilemma... I work for Starwood so I can get a room at the swan or dolphin for $69 a night plus 50% off all food and beverage at any of the restaurants. While this is an awesome deal. I'm afraid I'll miss out on some of the magic staying at a more "Disney" resort and getting the dining plan and eating at all the themed restaurants. Will I regret not spending the extra money to stay at a Disney resort? Thanks for any advice!
"Disney condition"? The Swalphin properties are not Disney properties and have only a few Disney connections. The condition of the rooms, however they are, are correlated to Starwood management & their standards.I haven't been inside a room in several years and cannot speak to the condition of any of the rooms.
When I did stay there, the rooms were kept in typical Disney condition.
