Swan and Dolphin Balcony Questions

We have never stayed here before so I have a few questions. Can you book a room with a guaranteed balcony at the Swan or Dolphin? Are they the kind of balconies you can actually sit on with chairs or are the balconies tiny and only big enough for standing?

Any tips you have for staying at these resorts would be appreciated.

Thanks everyone!

Ive stayed at the Dolphin five times so far. Twice I've had balconies. Yes there are chairs and a table. They are big enough to sit and have coffee.
One time I had a view of Tower of Terror. (Great to be in bed and see that)
And the second time I was facing Boardwalk and Epcot. I could see Spaceship Earth.

Here is are videos from those stays.

Great info, thank you! Can you book a balcony room or was it just random that you got them?

I stayed at the Dolphin couple years ago and my room had 2 balconies. One was small it could hold chair and small table and the other balcony was much bigger. The room I stayed in was end room facing DHS and the pools. It was great!! The only problem was mosquitos!! I really like staying at Swan and Dolphin you are so close to DHS and Epcot. If you stay for Illuminations at Epcot you can be back at hotel in 10 mins!!

Yes you are supposed to book a balcony room if you want one. I didn't though. I just got lucky and was upgraded to a balcony room twice.

Btw, if you watch the first video I posted to the end you will see that I had two balconies facing Epcot.

Wow you were lucky!

We are looking forward to staying at either the Dolphin or the Swan, but I don't like the "resort fee" or the parking fee. Oh well I just have to take those into account when comparing rates. It is still far cheaper than a Disney Deluxe hotel.
