Surprisingly Enjoyable Rides!

What ride did you not think you would enjoy at all and may of even avoided on trips until you finally experienced it and discovered you enjoyed it?

I had always avoided the Astro Orbitor because of the line and the fact that i'm terrified of heights. Well, i finally mustered up enough courage and decided to give it a show a few weeks ago.

I must say, this was very enjoyable, even if going past the axis point (when the arm is furthest extended) made me a little woozy. I wanted to ride again but decided to save it for another day :)

I'm Surrounded by Idiots
When my mother first went after ToT was opened she was afraid to go on the ride thinking that she wouldn't like it and the next time we went back she tried it and loved it and now she rides it at least five times when we are down there.
She also didn't think she would enjoy RnR but went on and loved it.

It isn't a ride, but the thing that surprised me was Flights of Wonder at Animal Kingdom. I was sitting just outside the entrance of the show waiting for the Jammin' Jungle Parade. A castmember came out with an owl and started talking about it. I glanced at my watch and noticed there was over an hour until the parade. I decided "what the heck" and caught the show. I found it quite entertaining.

Well, there hasn't really been any ride I was afraid to go on, I've gone on most of them without hesitation. But I have yet to go on Splash Mountain, usually because of the long line. :(

I didn't think I would like El Rio del Tiempo, but it was ok, I like going inside with everything going on, then you say, "wow theirs also a ride in here too, nice!"

well, this is interesting...with me, i thought i would like Astro Orbiter, cuz i liked Dumbo and such. i swear to you, i've never been more terrified on a ride in my life!! it was me and my sister, me in the front with the controls. well, the thing starts up, going faster than what i expected....my sister is behind me yelling at me to go higher while i'm yelling back at her that i can't....i just KNEW that i was gonna fall out of that thing if i even thought about moving one muscle! because the rockets lean, i was pressed up against the side SO hard...i was miserable the whole time (which made it seem like the ride lasted forever!) that's been years ago...so i haven't decided if i should give it another try, or if it's just one of those rides that i'm just not meant to ride.

but i have a few rides that i like that i didn't think i would. first is HM...was nearly traumatized by it as a kid...refused to go on it for years...mom and dad finally dragged me on it once again and i decided it wasn't so bad after all.

next is the coasters. i REALLY wasn't a daring kid (i'm still not to an extent) so i didn't think i'd like the coasters at all. my mom and my sister dragged me on Barnstormer, just as a trial to see if i'd like it. i did. so i got even braver and went for BTM...liked it too. so then i went for the mother of them all...SM. liked it too! i'm still too chicken for RnRC...though i may scrape up the guts to go on it one of these days. :)

My sister had to DRAG me on RnRc
besides the 0-60mph in 2 seconds (i dont like that part) the rest of the ride is SO MUCH FUN!! you dont even feel like your on a roller coaster, it is soo smooth and the music is awesome! I think you'll enjoy it. I did (and i wont go on ToT!! LOL)

I was surprised to be the only person in my family who actually wanted to go on it. I'm usually afraid of going on thrill rides, but I tried convincing my brother to go on with me. He chickened out, so I brought my sister on it, who NEVER chickens out on a ride. As we were placing our feet onto the floor of the coaster she chickened out and left. But Then I went on with my mom and eventualy convinced my brother to come on it, and he loved it.

Had never done the country bear jamboree, then i did it and realized that I really hadn't missed out on much. To this day I can't recall ever seeing the Diamond Horseshoe Review. Also took me years to do CoP, which was kind of cool but only because of the history behind it. Universe of Energy has always sucked (hated getting stuck in the dark with that stupid spaceship blasting off) oh yea i never did the animation tour but when i did i wasn't impressed

Oh yeah - I did sorta have to be forced into RnRC...I still wasn't sure about it after my first ride (guess I was too scared to really be paying attention to the ride! )- after about the 3rd ride I was in LOVE! :D

i think you missed the point of the thread....it's supposed to be rides that you were surprised that you liked...not disliked. i mean, sure, some of us have put in rides that we that we would like but didn't....but at least put SOMETHING in your post that you liked :)
