Trip Report Surprise! We went to Disneyland Paris!

Was really shocked to see how crowded Main Street was (though I tend to take the arcade on the left side and then take less traveled paths towards BTMRR and Phantom Manor when I get inside the park.) I was also surprised you said there were lots of strollers as I usually don’t see that many when I am there.

I was just taking photos of the wishing well when Snow White herself appeared! She was really cute and waved at us. It seems like the character interactions here are more like OG Disneyland where characters randomly appear around the park.
There are lots of cool metal sculptures representing different characters around the castle. But one thing I noticed about this park is the maintenance standard isn’t as high as in other parks. There were some broken things in view, trash (see water picture above), and some things were blocked off with ugly plastic caution tape. Also can we talk about the ugly obvious speakers?
Phantom Manor! The house itself is very elaborate but the grounds are not as interesting as other iterations of the Haunted Mansion.
One cute thing here was the CMs at the entrance said “bon soir” (good evening) instead of “Bonjour” (good day) even though it was definitely “Bonjour” time of day. Spooky!

This version does start with the stretching room but the ride itself is quite different from the versions in Anaheim/Orlando/Tokyo. There is the theme of the murderous bride running throughout. I was disappointed to learn that the Ghost Host does not magically lower the safety bar for you.

I’m having trouble adding text to posts that have photos so I’m hoping this post works…as you can see above we rode Pirates again with just a five minute wait and this time we were NOT crammed into a row with other people, so I could get a few photos.

Also at one point we made an American “friend” in the bathroom because we were wearing masks and she was ranting about how Europeans don’t wear masks and don’t cover their mouths when they cough and don’t wash their hands…I cannot verify most of these claims, but I do know people have been constantly coughing everywhere on all the trains we have been on 
Yes I am still masking in many indoor spaces and I don’t think I’ll ever not wear a mask on a train, plane, bus, etc. People are gross everywhere. Due to my profession, even a little cold can put me out of commission for two weeks or longer so I’m still being careful. I got Covid in May and had to miss a performance of a dream role with an NYC opera company. Luckily the shows were spread out over some time and I recovered in time to do the final show and the company still paid me my full fee despite me missing opening night. /rant

The outside of Hyperspace Mountain has absolutely nothing to do with the inside 
Not complaining as the steampunk look is really cool and unique, but if I didn’t already know it was going to be a Star Wars themed ride I would have no idea based on the outside
We LOVED it! The initial launch was a little much (when did we get so old?? We both used to ride every crazy coaster over and over to the chagrin of our respective parents!) but we had so much fun!

After HSM we decided we were pretty much done for the day. We still had our return ticket for Spider-Man in WDSP so we made our way out of DLP. As you can see parts of the park felt very empty! That’s always a nice feeling even if it’s because there’s not much going on in that part of the park.
