Surprise trip help!

Hi! First time posting but seasoned Disney traveler here (10+ trips). So my husband has been telling me he's got a huge surprise for my birthday in February. He has given me no clues as to what it is, but I had a feeling it had something to do with Disney world. We got the thing in the mail the other day that says something about "Your magical vacation starts soon!" Or something like that. I can't remember the exact wording but it's the little booklet that lists your reservation and has a little info in it.

My problem is that I don't want to tell my husband I know anything about this!! He has worked so hard to keep it a secret and doesn't know I saw this in the mail. It would kill him if he knew I knew! The only problem is he tore it in two and threw it in the trash without opening it! I've always been the one to plan our trips so he had no idea what it was (he probably thought it was a vacation club offer or something). Does this booklet contain anything we might need for our trip?! I can't remember what else is in there! I know the luggage tags come in the Magic band box usually. Do I need to dig it out and save it?? Thanks so much in advance!!

Yay how exciting! The booklet contains just some fun info about WDW and it’s offerings which if you’ve gone 10+ times, you already know. However what is helpful in the booklet is at the end page it lists your booking dates like when you can book dining and fastpasses. We don’t take magical express or book a package with flights so I am not sure if the booklet contains any extras we don’t utilize.

Have a great trip!

Thanks so much! I really didn't want to look in the booklet because I don't want to ruin anymore of the surprise! Lol! I'm pretty sure the magical express info comes much later (close to the trip date) so it shouldn't be there since I think this is happening in early February. So we should be at the point of booking the fast passes and dining anyways (if that's what he's planning on) , which he should be aware of. He helped me do some planning for our trip a year ago.

Thanks again!

The ME things will show up usually a week or two before the trip. If he's planned something extra for you it wouldn't be showing up in this booklet. It lists your reservation number, your resort, your arrival date and type of package booked. The booklet highlights park attractions, describes magic band, dining plan, and other features. The most valuable part is the last page which lists dates for making ADR's, FP, and online check in. It also reminds you to get onto the MDE site. These have been getting sent out as a helpful reminder. Its just fun getting the decorative booklet with your name on it after you've booked a trip. Hope he makes your Bday trip extra special for you!!!

So you've also not logged in to your MDE account recently...the reservation, along with ADRs and FP+ will be listed. Same with the app. And don't open that box that will show up in your mailbox sometime in February...those will be your MBs, unless he declined them.

I hope he thought of making the ADRs that the two of you will enjoy. Otherwise it may be slim pickings for nice dining. The problem is there is no way you can ask him about it.

Thank you! I'm super excited! It's killing me not telling I'm I know we are going but I can tell that he is SO excited about surprising me. I have no clue when we actually leave or where we aren't staying at all so its still kind of a surprise!

Oh me too!! I'm almost a little anxious about it because I'm so used to having everything planned out to a tee! But anything we do in disney will be great! I will definitely have to keep you posted! I think he is going to reveal it on February 3rd so I've got to wait a little while!

I think he created his own account because I actually was on there the other day not thinking about it! Nothing showed up though. Also not sure about the MB's since we have 2 each from previous trips. But we will see!

Celenasmom89...before the trash goes out I would pull that little booklet out JUST IN CASE and keep it somewhere until your surprise is revealed! THEN look at it to make sure there is not anything other than what has been said here...ya just never know with Disney....they could change what's in the booklet and not tell ya! Better safe to pull it out of the trash than take a chance that it wasn't anything you need!

If he's added you to his MDE account as Family & friends (or even if he's not), any joint reservations - resort, ADRs, FP+ will also show up in yours. As far as I know, there's no way to hide that - I've even called Disney to see if that's possible. My daughter knew we were going to celebrate her birthday. I just wanted to hide the fact that we'd be staying at the GF.

That's a great idea!! It's not gone yet so I'll do that!
