Surprise Trip for my Daughter

DH & I have decided to take our DD to Disney as a birthday surprise. Her Birthday is August 27th (she'll be 10) and we will surprise her with the trip then. Our two sons (20 & 22) have already been 3 times and told us it was OK to take just DD this time. We will be going Sept. 24-28 and staying at WL with FREE Dining. I have been planning this trip since May and have been on every site for Disney possible to plan this trip. I am so excited and can't wait to surprise her on her birthday. :p

Oh how I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE a surprise trip!!! :D We surprised our girls last summer...they literally had no idea until we were driving through the Maingate. I'm orchestrating the surprise for the November trip...debating about the merits of surprising at home vs. heading to the Disney Store and letting them work their magic.

You'll have to come back on and post the surprise details/video.

How are you going to surprise her? I always love the videos of kids being told they are going to Disney (including that one that went viral when they cried because they wanted to go to TN instead). We surprised DS for his 3rd birthday. He didn't get it at first. When we said "Wake up we're going to Disney World" his response was "Why?" We laughed so hard.

Get her birthday button!

Yes! Do this! Our Aug trip last year was for DD5's bday and everyone was so wonderful about acknowledging the bday the whole trip. Lots of happy birthday greetings, a number of cupcakes and cards, and even an amazing serenade at Sunshine Seasons. We also ordered a custom cake for her actual bday (my avatar) which really made the day...Minnie even came by to help sing Happy Bday (we were at Chef Mickey's for breakfast).

DD is having a Luau Birthday and I have gotten her a Disney Authograph Book that I will wrap with a note that says "pack your bags we're leaving for Disney in 4 weeks". I have already gotten the note ready with disney pictures on it as well as a picture of WL where we will be staying.

One Little Spark...
Congrats on your trip! Be sure to get a button for the kid, it's a lot of fun!

I don't tell my kid, I just let her figure it out when we get there.

It's always the same. She sees the busses for the Magical Express, and freaks out. Then she asks if we can go, and I play dumb and make her go ask the attendant at Magical Express. She then comes back and asks if we have tickets, and I hand her the tickets and ask her to see if those will work.

She goes back and presents the tickets to the person at Magical Express, and flips out when she hears "yes, those will work".

I'm gonna do it the same way this year...not sure if the kid has wised up to it yet (this is the third time).
