Supermarket Question

I hope i'm posting this in the correct are! =D We will be heading down to WDW Sept. 26 - Oct 4. We will not be going to any parks the day we get there...however since we are not renting a car, I'd like to know if there are any supermarkets, or any store that we can pick up a few snacks. I know that we can order and have it delivered, but if possible i'd like to head to a store. Does anyone know if there are ANY within walking distance...and if you do have to take a cab...does anyone know on average how much it costs? Thanks!

If you don't have a rental there really aren't any supermarkets close enough to walk to. There is a Publix near DTD but that would be quite a walk especially with grocery bags. We thought about taking a cab to get groceries but decided to try delivery by Garden Grocer last time and they were great. They had everything we needed, were reasonably priced and all the groceries were ready when we arrived.

Another vote for Garden Grocer- it was so easy! I do not know anything about cab costs. Good luck I am sure someone can tell you the prices and will post a reply!

We use Quicksilver for our transportation from Orlando airport to our resort and they make a grocery store stop on the way. Has worked out very well for us for years.

There are always the trading posts at FW, they sell food and snacks for the people that are camping there. More food stuff than a regular disney gift shop although that is really what it is, a gift shop. There are two of them, one is right in the marina so you can take the monorail to MK and the launch to FW campground and then a short (2 minutes max) walk to the Settlement trading post. I can't think of another option unless you take a cab to a grocery store or have stuff delivered. Both of those options could be just as pricey (or more) than paying the marked up prices at the trading post.

Depends which resort you are going to, the resorts such as WL and BC with villas nearby, sell groceries, bread, milk, drinks, etc in their resort shop.

i think i'm going to end up either ordering from Garden Grocers or just sending a box to the resort ahead of time. Either way it's going to cost me...& I'd rather pay a delivery fee or shipping fee and have the extra time...rather than paying a cab. Thanks for all your help!!!:D
