Superbowl Crowd Spillover

Do most see the Superbowl crowds/spectators in Jacksonville spilling over to an extended vacation at WDW for the rest of that week? That is what everyone is telling me..."how could I pick any time around the Superbowl to go to WDW when the SB is in Florida". What has happened with past SB's held in Florida? Were there increased crowds at the parks the week after or the week before? I really like February and I hope to see the same February crowd numbers as in the past.

Ugh I hope so to

I hate crowds... it makes me mad when I'm standing in line with lots of other people... especially people with strollers in MK who enjoy running over my sandled feet :fork:

I'll be there from the 3-9th...so i definetly hope the crowds will be light.

Most of the people who get tickets to the super bowl are corporate. Very few tickets are given out to fans of either team so I dont' know about people from the superbowl coming to WDW.

But there will be a lot of people coming up from LA, as it is Mardi Gras week.

I'm going at that time, I'm not too worried about the crowds. But I hope to get to see the parade they have on main street for the guy who says I'm going to disney world.

It is Mardi Gras week where I live as well during that time(we are only an hour from New Orleans and we have alot of their traditions here). I completely forgot about that, so thank you for reminding me. I have friends that were looking to get out of here to WDW that week because of the kids being out for Mardi Gras. Maybe it will not be too bad. In the past during February I was worried about the Daytona 500 being a big draw to WDW, but that was not bad at all. It was like the Daytona 500 fans were the only ones we really saw since the park was so not crowded. I have no choice but to go that week because we are attending a concert in Tampa on 2/12 and decided to make it a combination Disney trip. :)

I actually went to the Superbowl 3 years ago in Tampa. Instead of Stayin in Tampa we actually stayed in Orlando as did a lot of other people. MOst people were gone the day after the SB, so there weren't any crowds. We extended our vacation a couple of days after the SB. As was said most people attending are corporate sponsors.

Probably the biggest influx of people you will see are those who live in Jacksonville and are fleeing the city Super Bowl week. If my wife could get the time off work that’s exactly what we would be doing. There isn’t a tremendous amount of confidence in Jacksonville being able to pull this thing off.

When the Superbowl was in Tampa 4 years ago, I went to WDW that day (I didn't like football then... I do now). The park wasn't too crowded and I had alot of fun. I've heard that Superbowl Sunday is one of the best days to visit a Disney park as most people are at home watching the game. From my experience it seemed pretty accurate. I remember seeing the traffic on I-4 going west into Tampa.... was MAJORLY backed up early int he morning. Eastbound going towards Orlando was a breeze!
