Superbowl 56

I agree. I also understand that a Bengals fan would have anticipated a Super Bowl appearance for years.

But I still agree. The future, and the past, are never as important as the moment. It's unfoturnate when we miss what's around us because we're on some mental journey to Yesterdayland or Tomorrowland. Unless, of course, we happen to be at the Magic Kingdom, in Tomorrowland.

These days, there's these new-fangled devices that preserve entire Super Bowls for viewing. We can experience whatever emotions we might experience, in that moment. Yeah, we might hear the final score before watching the game. That will diminish enjoyment. Scheduling a side trip to a bar during a family vacation will diminish enjoyment as well, eh? Which matters more? That would be a value decision.
Yeah, ride 50 yo pan for the 50th time or watch an event that happens live once....

Superbowl? For the price of two of the cheapest tickets I can take my whole family group of 7 to WDW for a week.
Superbowl? What Superbowl???

Yes you can record and replay entire games. Yes there will be clips replayed of highlights and game changing plays. But it’s never the same watching an at the time, in the moment game. A sports fan knows the difference. And especially watching a game afterwards when you know the outcome because it was heard on a radio or tv broadcast or if a friend carelessly told you the outcome.
Everyone is different and sports fans will know what I’m talking about.
If the Bengals lose there will be sadness among their true fans, but being in Disney will help heal those hurts.
ppet, enjoy your game and the thrills you and your kid share and best of luck to your team.

All of this.

As a Cincy native, and a huge Bengals fan, I’m over the moon for this moment. I was 10 when Joe Montana and John Taylor broke my heart and we finally have a chance to heal.

Last week, I left for a bike ride at halftime when “we” were down at the half. I’m also training for a full IM and training must trump all at times.

When I came back, and the game was tied going into the 4th, I knew I could watch highlights of what had happened, but it simply isn’t the same as live. I’d missed the chance to celebrate the momentum shift with my dad and brother live over the phone.

I don’t have very high hopes for the Bengals’ chances next Sunday, but I’d probably try and get into the NBC Sports Grill at Citywalk. The food isn’t necessarily awesome, but it’s an Orlando attraction location and NBC is the host network this year. It’s a way to bring in vacation and the game simultaneously.

You are correct, of course, and surprisingly I understand that part of it even though as you say it is not my thing.

To me there will be reruns of all the highlights for weeks after and if the Bengals lose, then a cloud descends upon them while spending beaucoup bucks to be at Disney. Check the news in the morning or when one gets back from getting one's money's worth and find out what happened then either rejoice or mourn. 9 out of 10 Super Bowls are total snores anyway. The half time shows can be interesting at times though. In the long haul it is only a game, but to each his/her own.
Reruns? SERIOUSLY? The Bengals haven’t been to what is widely considered the most highly rated sporting event in the USA, for over 30 years. I’m not a Bengals fan, but I am a fan of football, and excited about the OP enthusiasm for his team, no matter where they may be. And to share that excitement with his son, AND be at Disney! I’m thinking of a word for that. Oh wait, PRICELESS comes to mind.

Stop me if I'm wrong, but doesn't 2 out of 4 parks close at 9? Furthermore I know for sure the Superbowl doesn't start till 8 WDW time. That still leaves almost 12 hours at any park. Any pool bar will have that game on, and that would leave the pool and other activities in the area available to any family members not interested in the game. Being an Ohio native, we were at Disney Springs one Saturday in October when a certain college team played another team from Pennsylvania. That game was a not miss opportunity. Me and my son ended up watching that game at the outside bar at Splitsville.

Whatever, everyone's priorities are different.

Whoever is the MVP of the SB, will probably take a redeye flight from CA to FL just in time for the MVP parade at MK the next afternoon. " I'm going to Disney World !". The only MVP of the SB not invited to take part in the parade was MVP Ray Lewis of Baltimore more than 20 years ago. He had some serious legal troubles at the time. How ironic, the Super Bowl this year is played at DLR doorstep, but the MVP will fly cross country overnight to attend their parade at MK.

Since I'm from New England I automatically hate everything LA and New York. Pinstripes and Purple and Gold especially make me puke.

Go Cinderella Cincinnati!

My assumption is that it will take place at Disneyland since this game is being played West of the Mississippi.

I have to ask. If the Super Bowl was so important why would one spend thousands of dollars to go to an alternate entertainment venue and then sit in a massively expensive hotel room and watch a football game? Besides, if it isn't on ABC or ESPN, I'm guessing the best you can hope for is an upcharge to view it.
Like others have said, I never expected the Bengals to be in this position before the season started when I booked this trip. Shoot if I had known that I'd have put a bet down, The Bengals were 100 to 1 to make the Super Bowl. The last time they were in the Super bowl my wife and I were newly weds with no kids. Now I am taking my Grandson to Disney. I can't think of a better way to spend my time. We'll start out at a park enjoying the day as a family(going to AK), then we'll end the day as a family cheering on our team.
Go Bengals!

Although I spent most of my Life in Vermont, I was born and raised to 15 in New York State. I grew up listening to Yankee baseball on my little 9 volt AM transistor Radio. (ah, the days of Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris and the rest of the crew). In Vermont I went for mostly New England teams except until I started to follow the Mets for what seemed like a million years before they finally won the Series in 1969. I kind of lost interest after that and never really follow any sport team but did enjoy watching Jack Nicolas and then Tiger Woods whip butt. I still have a passing interest in pro golf but I can take it or leave it. When it comes to the Super Bowl, I usually just routed for whatever team my son in law and grandson didn't chose. I was hated in the years that New England won often. They also were always against Broncos, so I had a number of years when things went well. My instinct right now is to cheer on the Bengals, but they are doing the Bengals so, I have to back the Rams this year.

Enjoy the game! I’m pulling for the Bengals as I always like it when teams that have never won the Super Bowl win (gives me hope that maybe sometime in my lifetime, the Vikings will win).

We went last year during Super Bowl. I didn't even realize it until my husband 'mentioned' it - oops. I want to say 'we' watched some of it at The Geyser Point grill/bar at Wilderness Lodge. Really nice atmosphere by the lake. It's a bar, but one that kids can be in.
