The family and I went to Uni today and as we were walking in, a guy asked if we liked television. After a little survey, we were asked if we would like to be paid to watch a pilot episode of a new tv series. Of course we did! It turned out to be a new spinoff for the Dwight Schrute character from The Office. It was hilarious. Such a super cool experience, especially as I am a huge Office fan! :)

That's amazing! I would have loved for that to happen to me. I'm also a HUUUUGE fan of The Office, and I'm really curious what they are going to do with the Dwight spinoff. Can you tell us any more about it? What was the episode about? How much were you paid?

It was about a relative of Dwight's passing away and Dwight possibly inheriting a farm. In order to do so though, he has to convince his very metro brother and sister to agree to run it with him. I got to see a very interesting Schrute family, lots of family members, and they were all hilarious. Everyone in the room, and there was about 30 of us, were laughing very hard. I cannot imagine them not running the pilot based on everyone's reactions.

We were ushered into a section of the park by the Mummy that had tvs in the windows (sorry still new to Uni). They had a bunch of computers set up with headphones and little handheld red and green buttons to push and the parts you like and did not like. The show was about 40 minutes with questions before and after about tv habits, shows we like and do not like, and questions about the office characters. It was a cool experience and they paid us $15 each. You have to have an out of state license, which I just have not transferred over yet. If you get asked, I would recommend it. It was hilarious.

That happened to me and my friend last year. We were waiting around in the Stay N Scream area before HHN and a guy approached us asking our age, then asked if we would like to watch an episode of a show for NBC, rate the program, and get paid a few bucks for our time. Of course we did it. I cannot remember the show, it was a police drama that actually was on the air. The show stunk, the acting was terrible, my the experience was pretty neat.

Happened to me several months ago in IoA. Watched an differently edited (compared to what aired Wednesday) pilot for Chicago Fire.

It was SO super funny. I want to tell you more details, but I would hate it if someone spoiled it for me. So, out of respect for others, I will not divulge what happened, but rest assured, it was hilarious. You will love it when it comes out!

I did that once, for a show called The Philanthropist. It was neat, feeling like a part of the process- and getting paid. ;)

I've seen this happen and a similar thing at the MGM grand in Vegas.

Good for you if that's your sort of thing but my attitude has always been "why would I want to watch tv? I'm at universal studios"

I did this in Vegas. I don't think they care that much about opinion if your show got cancelled and that horrible waste of pixels "Yukon Men" continues to play, despite my complaints about the Japanese sitcom name.

We did something similar a few years ago at Universal. The show was a Kids Say the Darndest Things rip off. Not a great show, but they paid us 15 bucks each... free lunch! ;)

My cousin and I got to do this in 2010. It was fun. We got to then watch the show when it was on TV too. We always called and reminded each other when it was gonna be on.

i got to do this back in 2007 2008? It was for a show that was basically a complete copy of the sopranos. show was about a mobster who see's a shrink. I know real original. I can't remember the name now. But i remember the show as an hour, the survey took 15 minutes i got paid 30 bucks. good deal!
