Here for a conference and am free from 1pm til 6:45;
MK is open until 11....

Disney App shows 30+ minutes wait for all the main attractions...

Is it worth buying s ticket and enjoying about 4 hours at MK or do I wait until I come back with the family in May?
Only free time I have is today.

Personally, I'd wait. You're not going to get that much done in your 4 hours and you're going to be rushing and clock watching towards the end. You will not get value for your $$. You could probably enjoy DownTown Disney for 4 hours
Wait a month and enjoy it with the family

Well, I love the MK and it would be worth it for me; although, lonely. You could get a lot done (see some shows, ride some of the shorter rides, etc.) alone than with your family.

Maybe check out the resorts? Watch Wishes from the Polynesian, treat yourself to a nice dinner? That may be better worth your time/money.

I didn't go...but now I have this afternoon free from 2 until 7...I can get tickets for a partial day for conference attendees from 2pm for $80 and from 4pm for $60...thinking about getting the 2pm ticket and then leaving around 6 to get ready for my reception tonight and then go back out because MK is open until midnight...not sure. LOL

It was a great day. The weather forecast was 80% chance of rain starting at noon, but it didn't rain till about 6:30. As you can tell, I was there, but it was a good day. The waits weren't that bad, but we had FP.

Have fun... I know I couldnt be that close to WDW parks and not visit... even if the hours vs cost wouldnt balance out. I'd still need to get my Disney fix in.... especially after sitting in a "boring conference". Even the smallest park time would be refreshing. Again, enjoy the time you have!!!

Well, heading back to the hotel now...rode the people mover, haunted mansion, pirates of the Caribbean, carrousel of progress and space mountain.
Have a FP for Big Thunder for 10pm...if it's not raining I'll come back. If not, hey it was fun!

Cannot wait to come back in 41 days!

PS: why is it that a guy on his own, with a wedding band nonetheless, gets looks as if I'm a creeper roaming the parks?

Just minded my own business and had fun, but still...kinda sucks.

There was one family in particular that looked ed I sat next to them at POC because they were a family of 5 and 3 sat together and the other two sat with me.

I've gone to the parks for a few hours multiple times during conventions when the window of time has been small. Just depends how much you like Disney and if you got the money!

Seems to me that if my job was paying for me to fly to Orlando, put me up in a hotel, feed me, and pay for all my other expenses, I'd sure as heck splurge on a partial day ticket to WDW! :)

Agree! Also, at least for my company, if we extend our trip either before or after the convention, we get the discounted rate at the deluxe hotels. About $250 for Yacht or GF compared to the usual rates.
